Every time I scroll through the titles I misread this novel's as Homes of Kyoto and imagine a series with an interior designer as the protagonist.

I admit, after volume 1 I was skeptical about this series since it seemed to feature a lot of tropes I dislike. I decided to stick around for a bit longer and my initial impression has improved a lot. Lydia turned out to be the main heroine (or at least the main love interest) and is fare more likeable as a character that she seemed according to Allen's unreliable narration. Allen is still dense but we got confirmation he has feelings for Lydia. Author is adding girls who aren't lolis to the harem.
Next step is doing something about Allen's annoying self deprecatinf attitude.

Edit: my apologies saw it on the store page I’m just a dummy. Ah I’m too cheap to buy it twice but still hope everyone who gets the premium enjoys it. I rather like Sasa but Sophia has rapidly risen as a favorite of mine.

If your goal is to attack the group though you'd want to make sure they are in the village before launching an assualt. Otherwise you just put them on guard and they either flee or can prepare to launch a surprise strike, neither one are tactically advantageous to the army. And we've seen this world's armies aren't some thrown together group of uncoordinated peasants.

On the other hand, discovering your target isn't in a village (presuming that is the goal) and then ambushing them on the way is very much a sound strategy under normal circumstances, at the very least it cuts down on the numbers you face.

Now in reality I'm not sure you could ambush this group, but at the very least you get to choose the ground and limit ally help, even if for only a time.

Strange and quite the cliffhanger there.

I haven't quite finished volume 1 yet, but it seems like he could have had some summons running around floor 1 collecting money and goblin cards for him while he grinds lower floors (or even while he's not in the dungeon at all?). Even if summons don't gel with his fighting style, that's something at least worth trying to see if it's possible.
