Another rom-com reaching a (somewhat rushed) happy ending.

Well, it was kind of a foretold conclusion when the author orders an air-strike against any possible ship on the first three chapters, pretty much effectively sinking them out of the story for good, and the main heroine appears by herself on all five covers.

Still, it was a fun read, even when using the same tried-and-true formula for the genre. A few tweaks here and here can not hide the basic tropes. Enjoying the read is all that matters.

Just finished volume 7 a couple days ago but having trouble motivating myself to continue before the end of the month. Reading ahead in the summaries, it sounds like Alus past might be revealed (i.e. his origin story). Could I possibly get some spoilers and maybe thoughts on what you like so much about the series? Thanks.

It didn't click to me that this was the same producer that messed with the Owner before, sad they had to draw it out for me.

Still, nice climax to the volume!

Prediction: For the trip they're either doing Hokkaido or somewhere in the Ryukyus (but somewhere a bit more obscure than Okinawa, maybe Ogasawara, since it's about as far from Japan as you can get while being in Japan?)

@myskaros Kouki goes through character altering growth during the afterstory (ow which there are many hundreds of satisfyingly long web installments), possibly the most of all characters. Thinking back, I like the afterstory better than the main one.

DDD is no joke one of my favorite JNC series, I absolutely love it. Even as someone who really does not like reading hiatus-ed/forever unfinished works, this is a rare series I find worth it in spite of that. (And at least the WN is still out there to continue the story in case I ever learn Japanese.) Even more amazing is that this was one of the first non-Bookworm JNC series I stumbled across after getting my membership back in 2020! Anyways, I have a lot of love for this series, and I'm glad that I could finally buy both volumes to support it.

... And speaking of Bookworm, this is where my year and some change of free credits went up until now :P But hey, DDD got my first non-Bookworm credits, as intended!

OMFG why does the main character in this book secretly take "photographs" or orbo-graphs (whatever you want to call them) of his student? What kind of douchebag is he? Makes me not want to read the book.

This is supposed to be a romance book, then why is the main character 17 years old and the heroine 13 years old?

Moreover, the headmaster of the royal academy is an idiot who makes students fail by asking them questions in their exam about useless knowledge such as "ancient elvish" language, among other things.

A large portion of the text in the book is the main character's personal monologue, which isn't particularly interesting.

There's also a lot of jibber jabber about how magic works in the story's world.

This is why I always go for free entertainment, because if you pay money, you get robbed.

I'm just here because the only genre I read is - harem, romance, fantasy. Harem genre is like Pokemon, but with chicks, you know?: "Gotta catch'em all, gotta catch'em all."

Reading vol. 7 sadly reminds me a lot of what’s going on in the Ukrain the last weeks and this was written 10 years ago, ofc with the Gulfwars and WW2 in mind! Is humankind this predictable? Knowing history well I would say yes, and it seems no one in power has learned from the past. Just a personal thought while reading this wonderful series.

Seems to be a new volume of this out this week according to light novel reddit's weekly top 10 sales ranking. Not sure if it's a sequel or reboot or completely standalone.

Edit: Ah, I see now. It's part of a spinoff series.

I do hope this is just a long hiatus and the author comes with a new volume(we're only half-way through webnovel), but the manga ending abruptly without any sensible conclusion doesn't exactly inspire confidence...
