Not too much to say on this one since I don't need to know too much beyond the art and the pedigree
of the creator to want it.

If you are curious about this author or the type of work this may be, most of their pilot trilogy have been adapted to anime: "A Pilot's Love Song" and "Princess and the Pilot". They're basically romance stories set in times of war in fantastical settings, but with older flying tech (think WW2 fighter pilots or maybe even less advanced).

This novel sounds like it is going to be an ongoing war series. The reviews have people saying they are looking forward to the next volume, so it's not done yet. Just released volume 1 this week, September 2019. One to keep an eye on.

Edit: 3 volumes are out now. Kono Light Novel Ga Sugoi winner.

    Synopsis (Teaser Translations):

Is this in the same world as the author's previous pilot series?

I really don't get it why this author's novels do not get translated.
They are relatively short series and are finished and self contained.

@durask I mean, same reason a lot of completed series don't get licensed. Publishers in general prefer newer series which have a chance for an anime adaptation. (They like to gamble on the possibility of an anime sales boost.)

@aruseus493 I'm just surprised that not even a single fan translator got interested in these books, maybe I am biased but I think they are pretty good (watched anime based on his novels and also read the fan translation of the first novel).

Fan-translations in the LN community have been virtually dead for a long time. All that's mostly left are the For-Profit WN Translators.

A relatively short but complete series only finished recently. Beautiful covers on the LNs. It had popularity in Japan finishing 9th in 2021 and 5th in 2022 in Konorano. An experienced author on his second series and a well respected publisher and editor. The author has expressed interest in the series being animated on Twitter. It has a manga adaption.

If Yen is not interested not sure why JNC would not be tapping on the door on this one.

Sounds like ultra nationalist revisionist fanfiction, starring Not!Japan.
