      I don't have one favourite but, there is one book I am currently reading called Fatespinner by S.K Aetherphoxx. There is also Sherlock Holmes, that is really good. For LNs there are Shield Hero, Spice and Wolf, Monogatari, Overlord, and Danmachi.

                    I'm going to go with some of the classics. The Count of Monte Christo is my favourite book, but it took me so long to finish it. George Orwell's 1984 is an interesting one especially when you compare to how things are going today (actually Animal farm might be a good one to re-read as well)

                    For something more modern, if you like action I recommend the Scarecrow series and Jack West Jr series by Mathew Reilly.

                    For LN... surprisingly my favourites haven't been officially picked up... though on this site I liked My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World. (I also like Master of Ragnarok, Unwanted Undead, and Me a Genius?)
