Nice. JNC has been on a roll with these licenses lately. Time to start reading this one after Dendrogram catch up.

Hmm. I was hoping for a Realist Hero anime, but I guess this will have to do. I haven't really tried the prepubs for this one, but the time skip at the beginning reminded me of Bluesteel Blasphemer, which I didn't enjoy all that much.

Hopefully this one doesn't get delayed for a year like Arifureta.

@myskaros I'm getting Death March vibes from that preview. I am looking forward to the Summon a Demon Lord anime much more than this, since I believe both will premiere this July.

@myskaros Really short, but not bad looking. Have to wait a couple of months and see how it looks when finished.

@legitpancake I never saw any of the Death March PV, but I didn't see anything that reminded me of it. I'm looking forward to IsekaiMaou as well, but I'm more nervous about it than Ragnarok.

@myskaros Hmmm. I dunno. Still too early to make a call IMO.

That was a surprisingly hard-to-read preview. I guess they'll be relying more on the script rather than presentation. I just hope they don't rely too much on the heroines.

According to Crunchyroll, they are apparently co-producers for the upcoming anime and have confirmed they will be streaming it.

First episode was decent enough. The animation was pretty simple and faces were off model a fair amount, but the script felt pretty competent, the fan service didn't feel too intrusive, and the story seemed served well. The episode felt a little bloated with explanations and exposition, but that's about par for course, plus I always felt volume 1 was extremely sparse on content, so hard to ding the anime for it. Overall, holding judgment until we get some of the more dynamic action scenes.

@myskaros I thought it was pretty good, but my kid sitting next to me was completely lost, not to mention irritated by the constant mentioning of clan/family relationships.

Not to different from how the reactions to the start of the LN went with that two year time skip.

It was a nice touch hinting instead of blatantly exposition-ing at the isekai origin through the OP. The whiplash of the time skip was really jarring in vol. 1.

The OP also is spoiler heavy showing Mitsuki either being a reincarnation of an Ygddrasil person or maybe getting isekai'd herself? I don't know what it means yet.

The pacing felt rushed to me since they skipped out on a lot of details plus the "camera" direction consisted of panning shot - panning shot - wide shot - panning shot. Not a great first impression for me.

Oh dear. I just checked it out. I think the first episode really shows EMT Squared's lack of experience in handling longer series. I'm really worried about this.

Thankfully, it looks like they at least have a fairly competent scriptwriter.

I wonder how the reactions were in Japan.

Seems Crunchyroll have decided to change SigrĂșn to Siegrune now as of ep 2.

Pace is a bit high too, covering volume 1 in 2 episodes. I know volume 1 wasn't the longest, but still no need to rush through the material.

Wouldn't be surprised if they skip volume 3 all together either.

@sniper_samurai I was just going to post that right now after watching episode 2 lol

The starting pace is indeed high with 2 episodes per-volume. And they skipped quite a lot of things too given this pace. If it keeps going like this I might stop watching until the LN catches up...

@terabyte This was exactly what I was worried about. I had noticed that the LN had a lot of parts that can be skipped. But man, it sure does take the sweeping feel away.

Ok. So it's not just me that's going "Wow! We are flying thru the story." If they blow thru volume 2 in two episodes and skip volume 3, I might be stopping, or at least pausing, this anime. How they handle Yuuto meeting Steinporr could make or break this anime.

While looking up how to spell Steinporr, I realized that they covered almost 1/4 of volume 2 already. This is way to fast.
