Reports from Twitter suggesting Amazon's anime program is no more (the shows are now available to all Prime members).

      Forbes contributor article:

Amazon Shuts Down Anime Strike via @forbes http://www.forbes.com/sites/laurenorsini/2018/01/05/amazon-shuts-down-anime-strike/#79891b211d2f

"We have decided to move the curated catalogs of Anime Strike and Heera into Prime Video so that more customers can enjoy this content as part of their Prime membership," the spokesperson said.

@terrence Welp. finally. Not in US, but just how ridiculous it is is one of the reasons I was gonna cancel my Prime membership. Add to that, the one show I was following with Prime Video in Canada went days without subtitles on an episode (I still don't know if it even has subs honestly, couldn't wait an extra week like I was using CR for free when it's a yearly membership thing). If this season is anything to go by, I can make sure I don't pay Amazon for another year and maybe even subscribe to HiDIVE.

Now I can legally watch Made in Abyss, Lustrous, and Girls’ Last Tour. This is a good day.

If only other stupid 'extra' streaming follows suit. Sadly, as they aren't ran by Amazon, unlikely. The fracturing of the various streaming services is something I greatly dislike.

Sorry, I ain't gonna pay $5 here, $6 here, $5 here, $7 here, $5 here, $6 here, and so on for what I was paying $15 for before. I'll just not stream your shows.

I'm buying VPN access just so I can give a middle finger to my ISP since they wont be able to track a single second of what I view online. Also looking into running for local level offices for the possibility of pushing a "Internet is a government run Utility" platform in my city.

Well, I really hope Seven Seas are able to fix this ugly Anime Strike logo on the first volume of Made in Abyss.

Hah! A week ago I used a some of my vacation to binge watch as much as I could under the one week free trial. Nothing wasted really, but good irony in timing. Now I can watch the rest of their catalog at a relaxed pace.

I hope the next thing anime fans fight for is Netflix simulcasts. I hate binge watching. Give me the shows as they air. The spoilers are easier to avoid that way too.

Has Kakegurui even arrived on stateside Netflix?

@terrence By most accounts, it seems like Netflix is going to simulcast (with a possible 24hr delay) Violet Evergarden in most countries, EXCEPT the US. It’s super sad that, as a Netflix subscriber, I’ll have to watch fansubs for a show they licensed and are releasing everywhere except here. I’ll stream it again on Netflix, but still, it makes me mad.

And yea, Kakegurui, the second half of Apocrypha, and Children of the Whales all are unavailable worldwide outside Japan.

Gotta hope fansub groups actually pick up, and release, these shows. Hiryuu did the first 9 eps of Kakegurui then mysteriously vanished. Their releases were getting more and more delayed by the last few eps too. UTW has been consistently doing Apocrypha though, and I believe Asenshi was doing LWA every week as well. Violet Evergarden is a big enough title, I hope it'll get picked up by a reliable group :o

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

                            Wait...

Can someone... anyone confirm, with a reference, that. Amazon strike is now not only amazon prime, but, includes Canada for the market reach?

                            Thanks!

That would probably put me over the tipping point for it being worth while...
