“Cour” is an English loan word of a Japanese loan word of a French word, mainly in use because when you say “season” with regards to TV programming no one has a clue how long a block that refers to.

        a "cour" is approximately a "season" = 12-13 1/2 hour episodes

Huh, the art looks like something from a 90s anime.

Yet another J-Novel series I just need to get caught up with. This will be as good a time as any to see if the novels live up to the hype, and I've been looking forward to trying this one.

Apparently, a lot of people have been wondering about the art.
I personally like it though. I think they made it that way to make Hajime's transition into badass not too drastic from his original self.

But I dunno. Let's just see when it comes out.

So i read the first volume yesterday, from the length of that one i would guess if the second is as long using more than two vols for one cour would fuck up the pacing way to hard. I'd rather see a 10-11 episode season which uses some time to delve into more intence character development. I can't see vol 1 having less than 4-5 episodes even if they cut out most floor hopping. Let's hope it won't end like that ugly smartphone thing.

I'm of the same opinion. Although I don't actually have that much hope considering there are 3 celebratory wall scrolls. (Mimicking the first three volumes' covers) So while I would love for there to be only 2 volumes adapted, we're probably gonna get 3+. The director is also a newbie when it comes to adaptations of LNs which makes me worried too.

If Japan keeps up at a pace of one volume every 3-4 months (factoring in the volume 8 delay that was just announced), they'll be to around volume 11 when the anime starts. If J-Novel Club keeps up a pace of a volume every 2-3 months, we'll be around volume 9 when the anime starts airing. Once again, this is assuming a consistent rate of release from both Japan and J-Novel Club. We could easily catch-up if they decide to release one volume every 5 months instead or something.

Dang I just saw this on CrunchyRoll news. White Fox is one of my favorite studios, but an April release date (which is the same time as when Steins;Gate 0 will be airing), I felt it was way too early and kinda rushed. I’m caught up on the English release of the LN, so I’m not in any hurry to watch the anime. If this postponement means they can give it the treatment it deserves, then it’s worth it.
This is mainly me saying this after watching Death March’s mediocre first episode.

@legitpancake Honestly, we're not sure if this actually means it's gonna get more time since anime series are typically produced while they're airing. What to keep an eye out for is whether they use the same staff (director, screenwriter, character designer) when 2019 comes around.

I just hope it's for the better: a.k.a. they change those 90s' character designs

@taedirk Dang. I was looking forward to watching that one. Given that most anime are tossed on the air only to boost sales, I've developed a "Your waifu is shit" attitude towards the majority of the announced series. As luck would have it, some of the more interesting sounding ones (Made in Abyss, Girls' Last Tour) are ultra-premium and not available thru my usual streaming channels.

There's so much waste of time Moe Slice of Life and Shounen sequel series this year. Also, lots of LN adaptations I have to avoid watching (so I can read them first).

Where's my adult chracters and romance? Oh that's right, we got that one with the huge age gap....... Noooo! =[

(Netflix has been taking some of the mature SciFi too, so we're left with not much else).
