I've been waiting for Nidome no Yuusha to be popular since a lot of Light Novels nowadays are the Isekai types but I'm still unsure if it's even being read or published already cuz the releases for English translations kinda stopped for a while

Just looked it up, seems like no one is hosting the first volume anymore. Wonder if ft groups got dmca'ed.

@jampodevral It's up on the translators' sites just fine, I can access all the chapters just fine from Novel Updates as well.

But yeah, unfortunately it's been stalled for a while, after 2 months, 2 chapters were released by 2 different groups and after that it's been quite for a month now again.

Oh, that one. I considered getting it so checked out the start, but the lead was just too sadistic for me.

It's kind of meh. I'm up to date on the English translations, but it's just not terribly exciting. There are some intriguing characters, but it just revels in the protagonist's overwhelming strength/intelligence/talent/good looks most of the time. I'll keep reading since apparently the first "arc" is done now, so maybe something more fun will happen soon.

Sorry, I actually haven't read this one :(

@myskaros I don't think the MC has ever been referred to as good looking though??

@paulnamida Fine D: the other points still stand!

I was hoping it would do something more interesting, considering the interesting enough backstory, but it's really just hareming out. /sigh

@myskaros I was interested untill you said that it was going harem route. I honestly have had enough harem to last me another 4-5 years at this point, without counting the current epubs from JNC. Is it odd that I'd happily read serious (non-trashy) romance series just cleanse my palette?

I just read four chapters for zilch.

Glad to hear that this series does not go this route.

@jampodevral Ikr? I’ve really been enjoying Realist Hero, and felt like the story would’ve been super cute if the main romance was between the MC and Liscia, but nope, author had to throw in a bunch more, since he’s a king! I know medieval European (which seems to be he sort of society the author is going for, plus some magic and demihumans) kings had concubines, but I don’t think any of them actually openly married more than one woman (at the same time).

Arifureta is another example where the first volume was misleading in that the rest of the series goes full harem.

@legitpancake Henry VIII married more than one woman... but most of them weren't consecutive:p

@paulnamida @jampodevral Really sorry! Just realized I mixed up this title with a different one! (Why they all gotta have similar names!) I haven't read this at all, none of what I claim above applies to this series at all, any possible similarity is a coincidence.

                          My bad!

@legitpancake Yeah, I was not stoked by the harem stuff in Realist Hero. I don’t even really get the fetish, harems seem like so much work to me. I feel that harems are written by authors who don’t realize how much work goes into a real relationship

@myskaros yeah, I was wondering where did that all came from, I mean, the MC doesn't have a harem at all... if anything, his "companion" of sorts is actually a yandere stalker but he's clueless to her feelings. I don't really know how it'll go down the line since we only have like 40 chapters translated or so, but the MC seems so focused on his vengeance to make a "harem" a main theme (especially taking into account his apparent infatuation with the Demon Lord)

Been binging on it this weekend, quite an interesting read. The web novel seems OKAY, not super high quality writing. It would be nice if somebody picked up LN adaptation (hint hint).

@paulnamida that's pretty quick compared to other translators I've seen for some light novels

It's such a good series. I like their take on the whole re-incarnation in another world trope. Kinda reminds me a bit like Shield Hero, but so much darker.
