While I was reading a manga called Hero Detective Nick, something clicked in my head and made me reminisce about Steam Detectives (Kaiketsu Jouki Tanteidan, published by Viz, ex-license) from years back. I don't even remember how many times I reread those volumes, just that it was a lot (last volumes were hard to get, uuh...)...

That work had a sequel, comprising of 13 volumes which dwarfs the original(8 volumes), and while a lot of Kiya Asiamiya's stuff got English translations, this one didn't.

Japanese: 真・快傑蒸気探偵団 / Shin Kaiketsu Jouki Tanteidan
      Translated title: New Steam Detectives
      alt text

      Author: Kiya Asamiya
Publisher: MediaWorks (don't think j-novel has any of their stuff yet?...)
      Volumes: 13
      BookWalker: https://bookwalker.jp/series/140873/

BookWalker's description is quite brief...; (trl. google)

Steam City is an imperial city that developed due to the abnormal development of steam engines.
As a result, the Imperial City has always been covered in white smoke.

Those who have the courage to fight many monsters and phantom thieves who do evil things under the cover of that white smoke —they are the
      righteous

      Steam Detectives

...but we can expect a lot of the steampunk and spunky detectives with heart that made the predecessor so beloved.
