      Hi,
I tried a few times purchasing coin but Stripe seems to not be able to handle 3D secure authorisation from a non US bank.

On my bank end, the 3D secure authentification worked :

On Stripe end, the payment was just declined:

Do you have any idea how this can be fixed.

@McFungos 3D Secure is a problem they need to do an overhaul of the payment system. For now your only option is to see if you can use the google/apple pay option https://j-novel.club/faq (bottom of the page)

Generally, "your card was declined" just literally means that your bank declined the transaction. Check with your bank to make sure they will allow the transaction; you may need to request that JNC is whitelisted since we are a small company and many banks automatically blacklist payments to us for that reason. If that turns out not to be the problem, email us at support@j-novel.club and we can investigate further.

@jpwong, 3D Secure currently works for one-off transactions like buying coins, it's still under development for subscriptions.

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

I have been paying for months my premium subscription with that bank. So white listing J-Novel on my bank side would be dubious.

If you implement the 3D Secure for subscription i'm not even sure i will be able to continue my payment if that technical issue persist.

Safest solution would be Google Pay which lead to my IBAN linked Paypal account but that currently not avaible for me

@McFungos Google Pay doesn’t work for you? When I’m on Chrome adding a new payment option, Google Pay shows up as an option. I know it doesn’t work in some countries like India but I’m pretty sure it’s available in Europe.

It's doesn't work either because as in the end they refuse Google Pay using Paypal. They want you to use a credit card with or without Google Pay.

At this point i may have to open a support ticket directly with Stripe

@McFungos A "card declined" error is not coming directly from Stripe, the payment processor, it is the response Stripe got from the bank for trying to charge your card and gets passed on to you. This is the error that gets logged on the Stripe backend: "Payment declined by the issuing bank."

That doesn't explain how that same card paid my monthly subscription. It should have been also declined.

@McFungos I understand and don't have an explanation for that, but your bank should be able to give you the reason.

@McFungos It's entirely possible that something changed on the bank's side of things with one of their fraud algorithms.

I have an online store where I've been buying stuff for years, I had one transaction with them where the bank required additional verification, so their system texted me a verification number, I entered it and the transaction was immediately declined and I got a notice from the bank saying they detected potentially fraudulent activity and blocked the transaction (that I had just used their 2 step verification to verify).

They may also see that you have a regular charge for the same amount from that company at set intervals and then suddently you get an off-schedule charge for a different amount -- that'll trigger the fraud detection often.

Very likely this case as my August subscription just has been debited on my bank side.
