Synopsis:
The Jester ―― More commonly known as the ‘Playboy’ Dylan, was fired from the party of the Heroes. The self-centred Heroes didn’t understand Dylan’s importance to the group.They were just a group of one-man teams. Not interested in cooperation at all. Any failures are blamed on the jester. Dylan, who was disgusted with such companions and was sick of playing as their comedic foil, happily accepted being kicked out.
The Heroes didn’t know. After saving them many times over with his magic tricks, the level 99 jester can change his job title to that of a ‘Great Sage’.
“Life, how about a rewrite?”
He’s done being the clown. From here on out, he’s going to take the leading role.
Why It should be licensed:
This is a fantasy light novel with RPG elements but the story touches the topic of changing jobs which from other fantasy-RPG novels i have read, this is not a topic that fleshed out.On this topic, the part of a Jester changing jobs and becoming a Great Sage seems to be a reference to an older famous RPG that had the same kind of job for a character (Final Fantasy o Dragon Quest maybe? I forgot).
I know it looks like just another of the so many fantasy "over powered MCs" stories out there but from what I read so far in the fan translations, it is very entertaining to see how his party is able to overcome some of their enemies and fights.
The story so far is also developing very well and it brings the always present question of Good vs Evil.Seeing as the light novel only has 3 volumes so far, it might be a good option for a licensed translation as it is just starting. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of how famous (or lack of), has in Japan so this might actually be a minus in worst case.
Plus I'm not going to lie, one of my reasons to hopefully see this licensed is because of the character designs and art.

Considering volume 3 came out 2019, it's pretty safe to say it's stalled/axed. The author apparently hasn't had much success.

I didn't notice that. That would be quite sad to hear.
I did some more research right now on Dash X Bunko website and found the volume 05 of the Manga adaptation is going to be released on 09/17/21 so there might be some hope? The story was originally a web novel apparently so they could still take it from there.
I have not been able to find any info if the light novel was cancelled/hiatus or if the author is going to make it a manga series only.
If someone finds something, please share.
