Questions before I sub
-
Hello,
I have a bunch of questions that I would like to ask:
1- Regarding the free credit, how does it work? Is it equivalent to a fixed amount of money (example: $15) or is it like a let's say "coin" that can be used to redeem any single novel on the website, regardless of current pricing on the novel? As in, the credit is futureproof to be worth a novel, or can it fluctuate according to the price of the novels? (and I get one of those every month, correct?)
2- Is there any way to read the prepubs on a Kobo Aura or a Kindle without amazon access?
3- How can I buy the premium, DRM free versions of the novels? I used the trial code to check the site, but I don't really see a way of buying it here, only links to other webstores.
4- Do premium members get a discount to buy the DRM free novels?
5- If I sub for a year, if I decide during the year that I no long want to subscribe, is it possible to interrupt it in the middle with a partial refund?
6- Can you just accumulate the free credit instead of spending it right away? There may be times where I don't really want to buy anything, or wish to keep it for a future release.
7- This is a suggestiong instead of a question: the website UI is very confusing. Please, make it less so.
8- A complaint: please, answer your e-mails. I sent one that was left unanswered.
Thank you for our time! Sorry for the bunch of questions.

The Premium credit is a token where you get to redeem 1 premium credit for 1 book.
At the moment every credit = 1 book
You recieve a credit when you 1st sign up as a premium member, and subsequently receive a new premium credit on the 15th of every month.2- Is there any way to read the prepubs on a Kobo Aura or a Kindle without amazon access?
No, at the moment the prepubs can only be read on the website, and on the J-Novel Club app for IOS and Android.
3- How can I buy the premium, DRM free versions of the novels? I used the trial code to check the site, but I don't really see a way of buying it here, only links to other webstores.
To buy a DRM free book:
- be on the main page
- go to the title section
- find the series you want, and click it
Find the volume you want to purchase, and click it - very important wait for the page to fully load (for the past week the site has started moving much faster but it's important to still wait, if you refresh it will take longer)
- the book links dont go up with the first part, most of the time they go up when part 5 of a book comes out.
here is a link to a books "purchase page" the last link is to purchase the DRM free premium edition.
Premium editions can ONLY be purchased with a premium credit, you must be at least a member to purchase premium credit, but you don't have to be a member to use a premium credit.
4- Do premium members get a discount to buy the DRM free novels?
They get a discount to purchase credits, credits cost $7 for members, and $6 for premium members.
This is where you can purchase premium credits, only 1 at a time for now.6- Can you just accumulate the free credit instead of spending it right away? There may be times where I don't really want to buy anything, or wish to keep it for a future release.
Premium credits do NOT expire, so you can save them for as long as you want.

Adding to the above, the button to buy a premium ebook is only on volumes where an ebook has been published - those volumes will have "buy the e-book" written under them on the series page and when you click on them, the following box will appear next to the series cover:
When you click on Premium, it will take you to a page where you can redeem a credit for your selected novel volume. Selecting "Redeem" will purchase the book and from then onwards, the book will be listed in your account's library for you to download. If the "Redeem" button is dark and you can't click it, it means you don't have a credit available to use - the page has links to where you can purchase one or upgrade to premium membership.

Thank you, guys. I have 2 more follow up questions:
1- It says I can buy a premium credit for $7. Does that mean that, once I sub as a premium, I can get a redeemable token for $7? Meaning, for a premium user, it costs $7 to get a DRM free ebook if I wish to buy an extra beyond my free monthly token allowance?
2- Some guy on the forum said something about free tokens from the spring promo code. I would like to know more about it. I used it but didn't get any free token... I think. Do I have to actually sub to get it? Is there still time? I am still on the week premium trial time. Should I sub while that is ongoing so I can get a free (or two free) tokens? Or was that guy talking about something completely different?

For a premium user it costs $6 to buy additional credits.
Right now you are a regular member and regular members pay $7 for premium credits.

The free token is for people who signed up for premium memberships.
When you upgrade to a premium membership you automatically get 1 free premium credit.
Also the spring promo code is over.
You will get your first free credit when you upgrade to premium and then subsequently after you will receive them on the 15th of every month.

So, basically, I get to pay $6 for any book being sold whenever I want, at least according to the current pricing scheme?
-
Short answer: yes but only if you are premium not if you are regular.

@Rahul-Balaggan Thank you, that takes care of my questions.
