Question about payment options / card types

Is it currently possible or planned to be able to use something other than a credit card,
like a debit card,i.e. Girocard/VPay (the German default card types for a check account(?)) for purchases?In some discussions it was mentioned that additional payment methods might be considered during the website redesign (which I assume is the current beta page). On the beta page the field for adding payment information is less direct about only accepting credit cards, though the CVC field seems to point to credit cards.
On a side note, is it usual for the form of Stripe to be embedded in the site, as opposed to redirecting to the payment processor site similar to Paypal or IIRC the Sofortüberweisung?

A debit card already works. I'm using it. -
@Immemor I believe having the form being embedded in the site is the norm for North American businesses. Large companies like Best Buy, Walmart or Amazon do the same thing with credit cards. Do note that even though you aren't being redirected, JNC doesn't have your card information (other than the standard stuff like the last 4 digits and the name on the card), that does end up sitting with the payment processor.
I believe debit cards should work, but it may depend a little bit how they're set up outside of North America. Most debit cards in the US also double as credit cards when it comes to how they interact with the payment network. I believe there's a few topics on the forum now from people from Germany and the UK about what they've had to do to get a card that works here issued or enabled.

I believe this is a German thing because in other countries (like the USA and the UK) debit cards have a CVC and so can be used on the site.

Thank you for your answers, I changed the card type in my original question, as it seems to be quite specific for Germany.
Searching the forum for a bit I only found threads pointing to the need of a credit card (or debit card in several other countries).
