@grobinson2k1 Pretty sure it wasn't in the LN, maybe @hopebestman meant it as a joke?

@hopebestman I'll be stalking the MAL and AP forums if that actually happens. So many people are currently calling Ryoma a pedophile because of that vibe. If it actually happens, I'll be watching them all rage.

a conundrum: Ryoma in the anime is 8 or 10 years old ? "romance" typically isn't a thing for anyone in that peer group (or it's puppy love) - If he has 'romance' with someone more mature/closer to his mental age they would be the shotacon/pedo...if Ryoma has a relationship someone closer to his age in the setting he is the lolicon. the solution of course (?) is embracing reincarnation in the setting. Ryoma IS 8 or 10 (or 12 by now in the LN?) he just happens to possess memories of his past life (and emotionally he's regressing to match his present age) so a down the road romance/arranged marriage with the duke's daughter isn't squicky ---but more mature ladies interested in him kinda is

@Demonskid im seeing these ppl as well. One part of me wants to call them morons but one part of me understand them. 42 yo dude getting excited after seeing a cute loli. Also in LN, as starting point Ryoma had that kind a vibe. After she left, his vibe gone. When they meet again, that vibe can be seeing like in vol 1-2. However, in anime because of the vibe, everyone acts there is some shitty stuff going on.

@Jon-Mitchell idk man. i mean after 15 its seems ok for that worlds view. I didnt get any "lolicon, pedo..." vibe when i was reading "mushoku tensei" and in there, there were a lot of banging.

I just started watching the anime and they stated he was 11 at the beginning of the anime. He became 8 when he isekaied, and 3 years had passed since then before the Duke found him. They haven't mentioned how old the duke's daughter is, yet, but she appears to be the same age as him.

I find people fighting over such a thing fun to watch. They try to bring our real world laws, to an anime pretty much based in a different world all together. Also we don't have laws for reincarnated people with past memories, which is why its so hilarious to me.

I wonder how these people will react when (if it's not cut out) Ryoma mentally yells at himself for developing a slight crush on Elia. xD

Though the argument itself reminds me of a real world story of reincarnation. A little boy claimed to remember his past life, said he was murdered. Lead authorities to where his previous life's body was buried and even the person who had killed him.

Most of the episode felt kind of cliché to me, but then the last 5 minutes... Holy crap that hit right in the feels. That made the episode worth watching.

@Demonskid Yeah, that was really rushed. And they also changed the epidemic to a generic miasma which is not in the LN.

@Terabyte Yea.. that upset me, mainly because it shows they're going to cut the illness and medical knowledge of the world information out of the one chat with the gods. It'll probably make no sense if they keep it in there. Doesn't the Merchant Guildmaster bring it up at one point as well?

Just.. so much being cut out and rushed.

It feels like its going back and forth.
                              Ep 1: nicely paced
Ep 2: Rushed, lots cut out
                              Ep 3: nicely paced
Ep 4: Rushed, lots cut out, stuff changed

Yeah, that was... weird. Did the producers think an actual epidemic would be too sensitive because of current events?

Most likely, yes. Japanese TV producers seem to be pretty sensitive about including current social topics in anime. Shows have gotten cancelled for lesser reasons.

I have to say that I'm really liking the anime so far. This last episode I think kinda moved me more than the novel did. Especially the ending. Reading it is one thing and that can move you a certain way, but seeing it animated can move you in a much different way. Seeing it moved me more than reading it. I think the animation team did a good job with the ending for this episode.

The ending was well done, that's the only part of this episode I was happy about. I wanted to join in on the hug.

Yup. I agree with rushed by it still got the main message across. The ending though really hit me hard. Definitely teared up a lot during it - put the episode rating way higher for me.

google: "nice boat", the final episode of School Days wasn't aired because the subject matter 'hit a little too close to home' of current events (IMHO it was the right decision, to delay airing the episode) the choice to show scenery of Scandinavian fjords and tranquil music was interesting
