Can i ask something about for some kind a mistake? I have to give example cuz my english is not enough to discribe.

"You had to do what you did to make sure I'm not a threat, and it's thanks to that I'm still alive at all. I know you did the right thing.

      "It's...

that , the second quote mark should be unnessecery right? I mean the talking still going on? I am asking that because i am seeing this thing from other places and i was wondering "is that a mistake or some kind a rule or a style?"

PS: I am asking here becuase i saw that from the last part but depends on reason , mods can be remove that comment.

8 parts, 8 weeks to read a book, than binge read the same book within' 2 hours again.

      Myne: Did we deceived him?
      Ferdinand: Indeed we did.
      Myne: *surprised myneface

Yes, the 2nd quote shouldn't be there. Looks like the dialogs and narration was shuffled around for the flow and that quote was left there hanging.

The quote IS necessary. The dialog continues to a new paragraph, so the line before doesn't close the quote, but the new paragraph requires an opening quote.

          The dialog is correctly quoted.

          "But the blueprints..."

            This is the whole thing:

“I’m sorry. You didn’t deserve that,” I said, squeezing the High Priest’s sleeve as he pressed yet another magic stone against my forehead. “You had to do what you did to make sure I’m not a threat, and it’s thanks to that I’m still alive at all. I know you did the right thing.
“It’s just, when I think about the family I’ll never meet again, I remember how important my new family is to me... But I have to spend all winter here, alone. It’s so lonely I could just die. And if you tell me now that I’ll never be able to see them again at all, maybe I will...
            ”

Maybe I'm not understanding the quoting rule. In this case, you need new open quote without the previous sentence closed? Or previous sentence must be closed at "... did the right thing."?

According to http://baxtercommunications.nl/quotation-marks-multi-paragraph-rule/ (which is consistent with how I was taught) the approach should be as follows:

              • To indicate the original speaker is still talking, the first paragraph is left open: no closing quotation marks are placed.
              • To indicate that we are still dealing with quoted material rather than the narrator’s prose, quotation marks are placed at the beginning of the second paragraph.
              • In other words, when dealing with quotations that extend over more than one paragraph, you need to put quotation marks at the beginning of each paragraph but at the end only of the final one

              Stay shiny, y'all.

@hiroto If what someone says is logically "multiple paragraphs" when written down, then the quote continues. This assumes that "written paragraph" encapsulates a "single thought".

The highlighted part below is one dialog, one speaker, but two "ideas", which is why there's a paragraph break.

And if you tell me now that I’ll never be able to see them again at all, maybe I will...”

If you close the quote after "right thing.", the second paragraph might be attributed to a different speaker. To prevent that, you could start the second paragraph with something like, I continued, to avoid confusion about who said it.

A search for "multi paragraph quotations" will come up with a lot of style documents that advocate "no closing quote, but an opening quote"; there's no need to take my word for it, because I've never claimed to be an expert on writing.

                  "But the blueprints..."
