      Der werwolf and seirei gensouki have just had their translations of volumes 6 and 8 recently completed but translations are still behind their Japanese releases.

        @voidmage

        Subject to change

        Also at J-Novel Club the next volume in any series is not added to the schedule until the day part 1 goes up.

        Additionally there may be extra time for new volumes to start, please refer to this post for more details

        When parts are labeled “FINAL” that refers to that specific volume.

        Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

          Are you talking about things like "part 8 FINAL"? That just means it's the last release for that particular volume.

              Not quite sure what you mean but JNC doesn't list a volume until the first part has been translated and released.

              Stay shiny, y'all.

                        That's fine. It's not like the FAQ is very helpful. Generally speaking JNC do not drop series so if there are more in Japan you can expect them to be translated eventually.

                        Stay shiny, y'all.

                          @shiny I see. I was just impatient to know since the series that i like are not up to date with the Japanese releases.

                            @voidmage series not being caught up to japan also means we have less in between time for new volumes, once we catch up we have to wait 3+ months for it to be out in Japan then another month (sometimes more sometimes less) for it to start translation here.

                                @voidmage Realistically, the release in Japan is the "start" of the process for JNC. Contracts may be in process before the release, but, it doesn't look like JNC translators get to see the book much before it hits the shelves in Japan. And, until the contracts are all signed, nothing is going to show up for us outsiders.

                                    @voidmage There's also the translation time to factor in between publication of volumes in Japan. While it's currently a unique case, Smartphone reduced the number of parts to six for a few volumes to facilitate catching up to Japan, then increased it back to eight to match the author's schedule of producing new volumes

                                    On the other hand, Grimgar was caught up with Japan, but the translation progress of 14+ and 14++ has put it behind again. Volume 15 is currently (or will be soon) out in Japan. Grimgar tends to have a lot more parts than most other stories.
