conventions for surnames may also vary between commonors and nobles

there's a reason that nobles have polysyllabic names that sound made up/fantastical : Brezenwast or whatever; so far we haven't seen that they have surnames.

      spoiler

everyone has a unique given name; someone else has one you like (mother/father/ whoever) make a contraction / hybrid out of several other's names

I suspect that commonors do have surnames (but they might be the 'son of" / 'daughter of' variety...and orphans don't even have that)

Here is a woman cosplaying Myne playing a harspiel (actually a Ukranian instrument called a bandura.)

Does anyone here know if there are sidestories that have never seen print in the light novels or in the currently untranslated bonus books? I might want check the ones that have no hope of ever being translated into English with Google translate at some point.

There are bonus books - put out by the original publisher. I understand they are chock-a-block full of art, and maps, and worldbuilding, and spoilers.

I'd love for the content to be premium bonuses, inserted in appropriate places of JNC premiums - or as separate volumes released at appropriate times -

            JNC---take my money!

@Jon-Mitchell I know. I mean if there are any bonus chapters from the WN that did not end up in either light novels or the bonus books. If they are in the bonus books, I'll wait for the chance that they'll be someday translated into English. If they are nowhere, might as well read them now.

ah! well that's an entirely different question. My understanding is that many "bonus" stories (like fan requested POV after stories, in the WNs) do get cleaned up and made part of the LN final product. I don't know the details as to what the differences are between the WN and LN) Sam posts a bonus content list (you can search the forums) and so far all the bonuses for AoaB are textless art. I know that there was a promotional magazine published in Japan as a giveaway to promote a release (and coincided with the anime premiere) - I'd like to see that here someday too

I wonder if we will get SS volume after Ark4?
                  https://play.google.com/store/books/details/?id=rU2nDwAAQBAJ
It says it includes SS from arks 1-4.

I don't see there any old SS we already got so I suppose all of those are new content and not a compilation book.
And I see Gunther's PoV stories there, so it should be super good stuff.

The volume contains 21 chapters and the breakdown is:
4 WN versions of chapters that changed or were skipped in the LN (006, 013, 018, 108)
                    2 event bonus stories
                    7 chapters from the SS WN (10, 38, 39, 40, 42, 44, 45)
                    8 TO BOOKS exclusive side-stories (retailer benefit for P3V1, P3V3, P3V4, P3V5, P4V1, P4V2, P4V3, P4V4)

Unless it sold poorly we should get more in the future to compile the retailer exclusive side-stories after P4V4

There is also the Gaiden volume set within Part 4 that contained 18 chapters with 10 being LN exclusive and I believe that remaining 8 were from the SS WN.

Chronologically the Gaiden volume came out after P4V4 and the Compilation volume came out after P4V8.

Are you talking about this? If so it contains basically nothing. Starts of with characters CVs, followed by the first chapter of the Part 1 manga, and then three chapters from P1V1. Throw in some random promotional adverts and that it's.

I realized something. In volume 1, the commoner shopkeeper had a book and he said "he got from a noble until he comes back and pay the bill" or something like that.

Even Damuel, bottom of the noble society didnt go to commoner area. Which noble gave that book as an insurance? Isnt that weird? I mean who carries a book with him and buys something but his money isnt enough so he gives the book IN COMMONER AREA???

8 parts, 8 weeks to read a book, than binge read the same book within' 2 hours again.

                      Myne: Did we deceived him?
                      Ferdinand: Indeed we did.

I think the noble was poor (for a noble) and pawned the book for cash.

Most likely the noble summoned the pawnshop owner to his estate in the nobles quarter. Or possibly he had an attendant go to the shop in his place to carry out the transaction.

@b-scot-morgan more interesting thing is, Myne didnt go shoping after that. If she saw the book again, she would buy it :D

Yeah, saw those today. If 18k is for 1 of each (cup+saucer+teabox) then in my eyes even short story + illustration can't justify the price. I doubt those are made of some excepyional high quality porcelain, so price for each piece in a set is maybe 500 yen max. Set it to 6k yen or something, 18k is a plain robbery. Can we have Myne and her fair prices?..

@LIbri-Liberorum Very impressive, and since she's singing in Ukrainian, it would sound "foreign" to both Japanese and English speaking audiences. Perfect cosplay. Even my wife (who doesn't really care for anime) thought she had a nice voice.

                                  @AlexUsman Noritake is actually very very well-known for their high quality (and often expensive) chinaware, and it looks like the cup and saucer are bone china too so that adds to the price. Very fitting for an archnoble collaboration, though I do wish it was more affordable so I could actually justify preordering it lol;;;

I wish the series could get a wider variety of merchandise in the future. Something like a Banpresto/Ichiban Kuji collab would be nice and in line with the kind of merch that other anime series tend to get(phone straps, keychains, towels, etc), with a chance to include something more interesting like teacups and the like for higher tier prizes. I know Cardcaptor Sakura included some really cute tea sets in some of the past ichiban kuji promotions, and the after-market price for those is definitely way cheaper than ~$180.

C'mon guys, these people created merchants like Benno, Frieda or whatever her grandfather's name is. These are people who like to get money as much as possible. So yeah 18.k is kind a ok :D You are not just taking tea set, its taking a part with the creator and her world :D
