I'm starting to get hyped... Seeing all these previews gets me ready... I doubt the OP can be as banging as Flare though which is a shame...

So, season 2 has started. In terms of animation, it definitely does look better than the first season. But, as we all know, it is not about episode one, it is all about episode 10 and onwards of a season when the budget is near depleted that really matters.
Admittedly, this appears to cover probably one of my more favourite arcs of the series, so I am half giddy, though season 1 was a disappointment.
Now, the one "irk" which might not be an irk (all depends on whether my recollection is right or wrong), I am sure the princess's hair is brown and not blonde....edit Nope, did a double check, not an irk, just a misconception due to their not being a colour image of her. It is blonde, thought he black and white internal images do give a brown/darker hair colour feel than blonde.

Welp, that was not that bad actually. The OP animation now actually looks like an OP animation, last time some scenes didn't even have backgrounds. The CGI fire was ugly but I can give it a pass.
And the episode itself was not half bad, the CGI has improved a lot, and the pacing was a lot better. I can have hope, right??

The first episode of season2 is actually following the LN, even if the pacing is a bit slow. Yue and Kauridiot are bickering on queue at least.
Season2 should at least cover Gruen labyrinth and the water labyrinth, does anyone think they will make it to the Haulia revenge arc this season?
ETA I'm glad to see that the princess is falling in love with Shizuku, I wonder if we get to see the rest of the big sister Shizuku fan club make an appearance?

Episode 2, definitely an improvement on season 1's fight scenes. Volume plot simplified, but that would have been expected and appropriate.
Rio is less a masochist, but I guess that is to hit a larger audience.

- I didn't recall Erisen being a literal city on the water / island city so its appearance in the anime surprised me.
- I was thinking the pacing wasn't bad, then I remembered they used 6 episodes for the first volume and two episodes each for the next three volumes. And one episode for Myu's introduction.
It's still too early to tell if season two will have more consistent pacing. Though based on the OP it seems plausible they're only going to cover two volumes this time. Ending like that would be make it similar to the end of the first season.

Aaaaaaaand... This one is getting a 3rd Season!
Well, the second season wasn't as bad as the first, but I wouldn't say it was especially great either. But, it is what it is. It does look like they may just well intend to animate the entire story at this point. All we can hope for is that they continue to try and do a better job with the 3rd season vs the 1st and 2nd.
