I'm simply curious, if anyone is buying the raws of light novels (for example, if you really like a certain title and you totally want to have this series in your shelf). If so, which ones?

Uhhh, I think I'm the only one who does that, but I do own a few light novels. But I didn't really buy them for collectings sake (maybe just a tiny bit), but because I really, really like especially those series. Funny enough, they've all got already mentioned in the subcategory 'Licensing Discussions!'. The sequence in which I bought them, should be like this:

        UPDATE: 28.06.2019

        • Sugar Apple Fairytale 1-17 (Complete)
        • Musketeer Rouge 1-9 (Complete)
        • Hakushaku to Yousei/Earl and Fairy 1-33 (Complete)
        • Accomplishments of the Duke's Daughter 1-8 (Complete)

Well, these are the only ones I currently have and which are really, really special to me. There are others I like to read, but not enough for me to buy the raws, so I will stick to their english versions, if there are any.

Just the 2 first volumes of Grimgar, I buy them partly for collection but also as a motivation to learn Japanese. Turn out it's way too difficult so instead I've buy the raw for Ill boy Ill girl cause the furigana and picture make it a bit easier.

But I've to say, the japanese version are kinda desapointing, I know they're mean to be cheap but still.
At least for Grimgar, Sevens Seas version is so much better than the jap.

I have around 20 vols of Mahouka, the whole Toradora series, OreImo, Kono koi to sono mirai, and some other volumes I don't remember. They were dumped on me by my friend, and I still have to put them in a cardboard box because my shelf is full of translated novels already.

None, but I no longer buy any paper books and am slowly getting rid of the stacks of boxes full of books that I already own.

I understand the collecting impulse, but I've rejected it as using up too much space :)

I'm in the same boat, I have many books - and am in the process of culling down to ones that have a specific sentimental value (signed by a favorite author? someone I met? sparks memories of a outing/trip?), or significant for possible future lending to friends/family, or the like

                      I read banned books

I have the Washio Sumi is a Hero Light Novel. I'm normally in the same boat as @HarmlessDave and @Jon-Mitchell , preferirng digital versions, but the ebook is region locked to Japan.

It has quite a lot illustrations though (and is a tankĹŤbon afaik), so its actually worth to own physically.

I'm buying all the bookworm raw on Kindle from amazon.com. TO Books, the publisher of the bookworm is rare among the Japanese publisher to publish their Japanese e-books outside of Japan. I've been asking other publisher too whenever I get a chance, but so far, no other publisher is able to do that.
                          Not even other LN publishers.
