@osrizzo Oh no! I never even considered that they might make it that bad.

Don't worry we can have solace in the fact that at least the Japanese merch will use the correct name.

Happy Myneday, episode 2 is here! I feel like the director is struggling with all the flashbacks, but since its been so long since season 2 I guess it can't be helped. In the end the scenes are giving a good sense of her homesickness. I wish we'd get a little more complex harpspiel practice. In the 2nd half we learned a chant for the cone of silence that I don't think we knew before.

I think episode 3 should pick up the pace.. assuming they don't feel a need to reintroduce everybody in the workshop.

The anime this season makes Myneday fuller! Seeing the story animated brings a-whole-nother level of joy.

Reading: Ascendance of a Bookworm, D-Genesis, Housecleaning Mage, Dahlia in Bloom, Rebuild World, Conqueror from a Dying Kingdom, Great Cleric

Seems to be dropping in animation quality a little and the flow of the action in some scenes looked a bit disjointed. The CR "translation" is annoying, too, probably done by someone with no knowledge of the actual story - Lutz touring a papyrus workshop in a neighboring city? I don't think so!

@angelus I'm pretty sure crunchyroll translators just get a copy of the script for the section they need to translate. Things like this are probably part of why JNC only puts one translator on most (all?) of their liscences. Also why were so lucky to have a translator like Quof.

So I believe. I don't think they don't even get to see the visuals either, which can lead to all sorts of problems too.

Anyway, despite my negative comments I'm still grateful for Myneday.

If they didn't get to see the visuals, we wouldn't have "Main". They spelled her name "Myne" on episode 1, then changed it to "Main" in episode 2 because of the emulation of romaji on the slate.

I see that once again the studio fail to convey the sense of urgency and danger in dangerous situations. The trombe hunt last season was boring compared to the source material, and in this episode, Myne's near mana overload seemed to be treated in a "ho hum, no big deal" kind of way. From the direction to the animation to the voice acting, these scenes continue to fall flat.

The script is available weeks before the episode drops, the visuals are sometimes completed rather later. In the case you point out, maybe the studio got to see the CR translation of EP1. The studio always calls the shots, if they say it's "Main" because to a Japanese person that more likely reads as "My-een" rather than as "May-n" then "Main" it is. At least we are in a much better position here because Quof has a channel of communication with the author.

Well, that and I assume that the katakana for Myne is マイン which when put into romanji is literally Main.

@angelus Back in the days of season 1, Crunchyroll typically wasn't getting the script for most anime until the day of, sometimes even not until after it aired in Japan. Studios were paranoid about the streaming sites leaking it before it aired in Japan, and it took them a long time to earn enough trust to get the materials in advance.

Shikza's execution is revealed in the most recent episode. When this happened in the LN, it was a huge shock for me and also for Myne

I swallowed hard. Not for a second had I expected that the archduke would have Shikza executed. Considering that Shikza was a noble and I was a commoner, I figured he would get a light punishment at worst.

But in the anime, she is just "oh, so that he was executed is not public knowledge" and breezes on with the conversation.

@lurkingmclurk, I'm glad they still show who uses rinsham. Although a certain purple-haired guy looks like he needs more than rinsham to make his hair behave!

I read books so I knwo what will happen but it is still interesting to see how they adapt it. Also I try to spot mistakes. In latest episode when Myne is eating alone in room I noticed there is no bell on table :)

Somebody or something is messing with time in my locality, I just sat down to watch the new episode and all of a sudden it was finished.

And a wild Blue Priest appeared, too! But "pwee"?

Hey. It's a HUGE step up from the "oink" we saw in the trailers.

I am so happy they developed Damuel’s character on screen! This is how characters become alive on screen, and what separates bookworm from the generic isekai! Big Applause to the production team
