Once again (like when Myne was being swallowed by a trombe), the animators fail at action scenes. In the middle of a fight for survival, everyone stands around making lengthy speeches.

I don’t know, I can think of one that is much worse on that front, Dragonball Z. Tons of lengthy speeches.

Nothing about that seems strange to me. Considering the first two minutes of the episode was a literal replay of the end of the previous one it's so obvious how little budget they had for all of this. And they had a lot of dialogue to squeeze in during that fight that already got pared down.
They definitely overdid it with the devouring soldiers roiding up and charging. Poor Fran would've broken his neck and he already didn't even get to draw his knife.
I'm mostly worried about the fact that Damuel is still conscious!

If one listens to the anime and enables German-language subtitles, Bezewanst is referred to as the "Hoch Bischof," something which makes a lot more sense than High Priest (vs. Head Priest, Ferdinand's office).

Edit: OK, impressions after a night's sleep and a rewatch.
Disappointing, I guess. The dialogue with Ferdinand when he sees Myne's charm is crucial, the rest of the story (and there's a lot of it) hangs on those few minutes and it just feels flat. And why is the charm plain black again, though? There should be a fire in it to show it's been activated. As has already been mentioned, Damuel should be seriously injured and unconscious, and Gunther's wound should be much worse too, were they reducing the injury detail because of the expected age of the audience?
Anyway, the production staff have one more week to redeem themselves.

Seems the final episode is already out in Japan through the release of the S3 Blu-Ray box set.

@IronDestinyBlaze, well, I did wonder how Happinet had got their hands on scenes from the final episode (as shown in the clip @talisein posted earlier), I guess that would explain it if it was already finished to make the BD pressing schedule.

@Angelus Happinet is on the production committee so it's in no way unexpected that they have scenes from the final episode.

@IronDestinyBlaze, the point was not that they had them at all, but that they had them so early.
It's still not unheard of for an anime episode to be completed with just days to spare. In the past, sometimes the finished tape was sent to the TV station by motorcycle courier just hours before it was due to be transmitted. In this case, if the BD schedules were driving everything then all the episodes must have been finished weeks ago.
EDIT: just went to check on the JP anime website and it's gone, you get some old movie site instead. Unless it's a server misconfiguration somewhere, that doesn't bode well for S4.
After reading something captivating, book lovers simply need to talk about it with someone.

EDIT: an understandable error in those notes, Gerlach and Dahldof might as well be nobles of Ahrensbach!
Found the problem - their server's HTTPS is misconfigured, if I use a browser that's not forcing HTTPS it works just fine.

They shure have crammed alot in last 2 episodes. It would have been better if it was over 4 episodes. It feels quite rushed and clumsy.

Yeah lots and lots was left out. But one thing I am hopeful for is another season, because at the end it said to be continued.

Showing the memories in the burning contract was an excellent use of the animated medium to enhance the story! Conversely, the still images saying goodbye were a disappointment. The PV they put out before was great so the staff certainly has it in them to do well, I should just watch it again now.
Well, with a to be continued I guess we'll see what they can do with the Night of Schutzaria? But I don't know how they're going to manage it. Rozemyne starts juggling so much between Wilfried, Hasse, and printing. They're going to have to keep rushing or drop some plot threads... or, hm, maybe from here they could do movies? I'm just doubtful the 20 minute episodic format is a good match for the content...
