@hiroto Oh my. Given the opening scene in episode 1, and hoping that cour 2 ends with that scene, to close the frame nicely, that gives hope that the second arc will take 2 cours. Which would mean a 3rd is planned. Crossing fingers.
Morning and Mourning sound alike for good and sufficient reasons.

I was actually thinking few days ago that 14 eps wouldn't be enough to cover 4 books from the 2nd ark. So they may go for a usual 11-12 episode season and cover only books 1 and 2. That would be a fitting ending to the animation as I feel later parts will be different from what we had until now.

@libri-liberorum It's possible there wasn't an opening in the JP TV programming. Supposedly one needs to book a slot far in advance.

The teaser image for season 2 shows items not present in vol4/5 (game boards, cards etc) so season 2 will probably cover the entire second arc.
However there already two OVAs announced with the 2nd being taken from well beyond the current LN translations (arc 3 or 4 if I heard correctly). Normally OVAs get produced well after the season has ended to hype people up for the next season during big breaks. So what is happening for Bookworm is not normal and that makes me more hopeful for a 3rd season.

@sniper_samurai Thanks, wasn't sure and didn't want to spoil myself. Since the 2nd OVA is from a potential season 3 that puts my hopes up a bit.

How long does Crunchyroll typically delay the disk release of animes they control?
I know Netflix tries really hard to keep things off the market while they have streaming rights. I'm still waiting for season 2 of The Seven Deadly Sins to be released, almost 3 years after it started streaming.

@someoldguy The problem right now is that for shows they haven't had anything to do with Funimation (Konosuba, Place Further than the Universe, Gabriel Dropout, and many more), they just don't release at all on home video, with the exception of some outliers like 5cm per second, Strike the Blood, and Kemono Friends, which were sublicensed to other companies. CR has entered into a home video distribution deal with Viz Media, but we have yet to see anything happen with that.
As for Seven Deadly Sins, either it wasn't profitable enough for Funi to license season 2, or Netflix is becoming more restrictive of home video for their shows.

@legitpancake That's kind of what I'm afraid of. I have a dislike of subscription streaming, preferring to do my own streaming of stuff I buy.
By all accounts, my current library is bigger than any of the streaming services in terms of total titles, if not current titles. It doesn't go away if my internet has problems, either. Or when the streaming service can't re-license it.
This is one title I really want to have...

The anime makes great use of shadows. For example, episode 2 13:40 onwards as Main and family head out to the pig killing (fully shadowed in town as the sun has not yet risen above the walls, to sunlight outside the gate, carefully paying attention to which direction each character is facing) and episode 7 around 12 minutes when Lutz first questions who Main is.
As an aside: the light novels spend several pages on candle making and Main's attempts at improvements, which in the anime is reduced to a single still image in ep 2 13:37. And I missed first time through that at 13:40 both sub and dub reference the song 'Donna Donna'. This reference is not in the LN.

It did exist in original LN, and localized this way:

That was a wrong volume, also using Donna Donna. It is this one.
Which is why I was currently sitting inside the back of a covered wagon between the loads of stuff packed into it.

The 20-minute side story OVA is split into two parts covering the stories "Justok's Downtown Invasion" and "Corinna's House Visit.” The OVA will be bundled with the limited edition version of the 22nd light novel and the start of the fifth story arc, Incarnation of the Goddess. The novel, along with the OVA, goes on sale on March 10 in Japan.
Which volume is Justok's Downton Invasion? Contains characters not in the translated Light novel yet. I think Justok is a magic user and a spy that is looking for information on Myne at Ehrenfest

Pretty cruel to release this for OVA only bundled with P5V1 book special bundle.
Interestingly, or understandably, this is shown on TOBOOKS youtube channel (which is not very active), and not through the regular channel used for anime teasers, so this is more of book promotion rather than anime promotion.

I had a thought on rewatching the 'meeting' episode. What if I was a traveling trader with no citizenship, but with a family. Near my kid's 7th birthday, I could bring them to town, dress them up and send them to the baptism, so they get magically registered citizenship. The temple just gets a crowd of kids and registers them all.
The probable solution to this is that there were checks of some sort happening that didn't get shown because it would be boring.

And I suspect that the merchant's children wouldn't have a residence within the city where they could live. Which leads to:

I mean Benno will open another shop from another city and puts Lutz on it. So what is the rule? Maybe citizenship is not what are we think. Or Otto and Benno werent talk about it. Traveling merchents have to leave city and have to go far far away from their home. One city to another. Always on the road , always buying and selling stuff. So if Lutz become traveling merchent he has to leave the city and has to travel along time. So even he has citizenship he couldnt be in the city. Writer didnt give us info about it and i dont think she will give in the future. Like you said , is there a time limit? What if i left Benno would left the city for fun? He could put Lutz or Corrina in charge to shop. He could leave and see new cities or stuff? Is there a limit? Is there a problem?

8 parts, 8 weeks to read a book, than binge read the same book within' 2 hours again.

New plan: a clan of traveling merchants band together to buy citizenship for just one of them, who then does a lot of child minding for the rest of the clan. The clan's children all age into being citizens.
