          Here's the publisher link https://www.sentaifilmworks.com/products/ascendance-of-a-bookworm-complete-collection-blu-ray

No Collector's Edition unfortunately, so probably no art book. But it will still likely be a day-one purchase for me :)

They announced the bluray release date and I went to pre-order it right away. Very much looking forward to owning it.

@mwbworld Just showed up on rightstufanime.com's new items. I haven't pre-ordered yet, since I placed an order for a lot of stuff earlier today, but it's on my wish list for the NEXT batch order.

              "But the blueprints..."

@SomeOldGuy Yup that's where I pre-ordered as well. It wasn't my usual monthly big-order since I already did that earlier so I threw in some back print LNs that I'm catching up on the print version of to round off for free shipping. (I keep a stock of series in the wishlist I'm catching up on the print version of just for that purpose.)

@mwbworld My daily ritual is to hit the "new-items" page, and add things to the wishlist. I'm back under 70 items in the wishlist, so actually placing the order for AoaB will be next month.

@SomeOldGuy Yeah I don't do that daily but once a month I go through that and build my pre-orders of things due in the same upcoming month. One thing I wish they had was something that showed you've already ordered when you look at an item. Once in a thankfully rare while - I pre-order something that I actually already pre-ordered because they date changed drastically. (now I do the double check of my pre-order e-mails.)

@mwbworld If you've ordered it, you will get a bar at the top that says, "you have already purchased this item on order NNNNNNNNNN", but that doesn't come up for things in a wishlist.

If I really paid attention to it, I wouldn't have two copies of Bunny Drop 6 or Wolf and Parchment 4...

Big announcement from TO Books this week to promote with P5V4 publication was start of Part 4 comicalization. Since they usually announce new anime season schedule about 4 months ahead, this was also a perfect window for season 3 announcement for spring 2021 anime season, just like season 2 for spring 2020 was announced at the same time 2019.

But since now we missed it, it is likely to be no earlier than summer 2021.

So if it airs Summer 2021 then by the time the it ends (assuming one cour) the English eBooks should be at Part 4 Volume 2 and the English physicals should be at least at Part 3 Volume 2 they might even been able to get a volume of the Part 3 manga on sale if they licensed it next month and do it side-by-side the Part 2 manga.

Finally got my copy of the anime on Saturday. I see/hear some of the "interesting" translation choices, like "cathedral" for temple, and "studio" for workshop.

Probably going to be similar to fingernails on chalk boards.

After watching the whole thing, I have one continuity question... Based on one of Myne's "future" inventions to fulfill a great need, why is a fast-flowing fountain in the central plaza featured in so many shots?

Good point! There are many explicit text suggesting that there is no aqueduct technology exist in the city of Ehrenfest, except for the fountain in the central plaza. Every other supply of water comes from wells, even in the castle. You definitely need gravity fed aqueduct to realize water fountain. It doesn't add up. I'll add that to my questions to ask for Fanbook 6.

@hiroto I suspect the fountain is an anime director wanting something moving in relatively static scenes that would not take a lot to animate. Reviewing P1V1, there are multiple plazas with wells mentioned, but the central plaza isn't one of them.

The map in the volume also has an empty plaza.

It is a significant continuity error, but I don't think it's the author's fault. We're dealing with "moving pictures", so static isn't a favorite thing for directors. "Plazas have fountains, give me a fountain!"

Edit: A fountain IS mentioned in P1V1:
The group stopped after reaching the fountain where the main roads connected. The kids from the other roads joined together, swelling our numbers enormously all at once. This was as far as Dad and I could go.

So, maybe it's not entirely a director's fault. Although I have seen a number of times in other stories where a "fountain" was simply a pool of water around some statue, without moving water.

                                      "But the blueprints..."

There's also the matter of what it means by "fountain". The anime director may have overdid it thinking of what a modern fountain looks like, and it may have just been a spring-fed well that bubbles in the middle or something.

Or... it could be a static amount of water with a magic tool being used as a pump.

Edit: A fountain IS mentioned in P1V1:

It's all over the places. She does care about this fountain being there.

                                          P1V2:

When we arrived at the fountain in the plaza, Otto was already there waiting.

Upon reaching the central plaza’s fountain, I sat down to take a break.

                                          P2V2:

The three of us walked around the plaza’s fountain, holding hands and paying attention to everyone’s clothes.

“Tuuli, why’ve you been walking around the fountain like that?”

There was a large fountain in the middle of a paved stone plaza.

                                          P2V3:
“What's your business?" asked Benno from behind me.Johann, who was now gasping for air, knelt down in front of me and the fountain amid the large crowd of passersby going through the central plaza.

                                          P3V2:
I see that the lower city is similar in how the further south you go, the lower in status the people get,” I mused upon reaching the central plaza and its fountain.

The Japanese word used here is https://jisho.org/word/噴水, which is "erupting water" and has much more specific connotation than English "fountain" and you can only refer to those water fountain which shoots water up, and not those small thing for drinking water.

Considering how mana in the earth just affects things. It's not far fetched to believe that the water mana in that area is somehow richer and causes the water fountain to flow.

Then again, wasn't there something mentioned about the hot bath Myne and Freda taking having hot water gushing?

I doubt mana is being used to power it, so that'd suggest they have some technology in that area already.
