      I think I read it anyway... I know it’s a long shot and take my recollections as a sort of fragmented memory of what it may actually be.

      There was a story of a guy, who with one (maybe two) girls ended up buying a house that was supposed to be haunted. The guy made a deal with the realtor that if they could survive one night there, they could buy the house cheaply. It turned out that the house was protected by a House spirit of sorts. He set up a lab in the basement and the house spirit assisted him.

      At one point, the house was attacked and the house spirit killed the intruders after giving them a warning and then buried them in the garden.

      That’s all I can remember at the moment but if anyone knows what I’m referring to, I’d greatly appreciate the assistance.

          Dammit. No wonder I wasn’t finding anything of use. Why the hell did the author have to be stupid? I want to keep reading it!

            The Manga for NewLife+ is getting another part published this month in Japan. While the manga is published by a different company in Japan than the company that publishes the light novel, this does make it appear there is a chance the series may pick back up again.

            Of course I don't know if that will happen but I have hope. If Sam knows anything he probably will tell us once he is allowed to by Hobby Lobby.

            I believe Sam did say on Discord that J-Novel already has the next book fully translated and a part of the book after that, however there may or may not be a problem with being able to get the translator back. He may have to find a new translator and might not announce anything until he gets a new translator lined up. This is purely all speculation on my part though.

                Author said racist things about Korea and China on Twitter over a period of 4 years (some of which happened right as he started New Life +). This was dredged up to go along with the allusions to the Nanking Massacre in his main character's backstory being seen as tone deaf. His anime got cancelled. He apologized, and said he wishes to alter the content of the books if needed. HJ dropped the series from store shelves (it's still on Bookwalker JP, all 18 currently released volumes).

                The manga is back up with new chapters, so we'll see what happens.

                  @jamelle-legaspi

                  The volumes were all removed. Long story short: the light novels were halted in Japan due to the author's racist comments from several years ago. Here's the ANN article with the story: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-06-06/new-life-young-again-in-another-world-light-novel-shipments-halted/.132519

                  Here's JNC's statement on the matter:
                  "With regards to the recent controversy surrounding problematic statements made by the original author of [New Life+] Young Again in Another World, J-Novel Club will be suspending its publication and sales of the English editions of the series after Volume 3, starting July 1st, 2018, pending further consultation with the Japanese rights holder.
                  J-Novel Club apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause our readers, and asks for their understanding in this difficult situation for all parties."
