@legitpancake Nope, never licensed. Might as well bug Seven Seas to license it at some point.

You can get it in French! They actually finished releasing the entire series already.

Anybody ever seen "Expelled From Paradise"? It looks like it got a light novel sequel.

@terrence Yes, I've seen it. Very open ending. Who published the sequel? Did they do an adaptation of the movie?

Hayakawa Shobo is what Google Translates the publisher name as. I only just saw this advertised on Twitter, so I don't know if they're going to adapt it to cinema, or if it is like the Gargantia sequel that was light novel only.

@terrence I had no idea! I really liked the movie. A novel sequel sounds interesting enough for me to check out.

Come to think of it, animation studios that publish light novels might become more common in the near future. I wonder if there are potential titles that JNC might snag.

(I'd really love to read Myriad Colors Phantom World from KyoAni.)

                      Yup.

There's likely no chance JNC will get this, because it's Kadokawa, but I figured I'd bring it up.

Looks like a sequel to the anime Gargantia.

In addition, there's a Bellows manga prequel... Though, I just don't like looking back in prequels. All about the present.

Myriad Colors already has a LN. In fact, that's where KyoAni got it. It is ... very different from the LN, the anime, though. Kinda like how Sound Euphonium is fairly different in some ways from its source LN.

@dtta I believe he was talking about the fact that KyoAni itself has a LN label, that's where Chuu2Koi, Violet Evergarden, Phantom World and a few other series come from.

(In an Eeyore voice) Any LN based on an original anime produced by Kadokawa would probably be published by a Kadokawa company. ;-)

me and my kids loved that series - it had the right levels of "weird" that appealed to both me and my kids.

@paulnamida Ah, I took it to mean he wanted a LN for the anime. :) I'm silly, ignore me ;)

@paul-nebeling The animation studio/would-be-publisher that I was aiming for was actually Sunrise. But then again, thanks for reminding us who owns KyoAni. XD

Assuming you are talking about KyoAni, where is the company info that links them? I know they have worked together (licensing Kadokawa LN), but it does seem like a completely independent company, as they did the publishing for Phantom World, not Kadokawa - which would make it ripe pickings for JNC :)

Do you know any Isekai series about a full family (4 people) getting sent to another world? — I think the Simpsons did it.

I got it, and it's a Kodansha work!

@fozzedout Actually, I wasn't referring to any animation studio in particular. I was sarcastically poking at Kadokawa. There are numerous titles sitting untranslated that are owned by Kadokawa that people here would love to see translated. I was just extending the "umbrella of untranslatability" a little.

Also, that LN looks adorable. Looks to be by Kodansha, so it might be a possibility.

@terrence I reeeeeally want to read those Gargantia novels, I loved the series. I hope Yen eventually has a digital only LN sub-label where they can be a little more experimental about what they release. If they do this would be a great launch series.
