@Sam are you sure about your title for the novel?
I understand the titel because I am from Germany and if I translate the german part of the title (Märchen der Werwolf) into English it would be:
fairy tale the werewolf (very odd)
shouldn't it rather be something like:
fairy tale of a werewolf (in English) -----> would sound better with a "the" (the fairy tale of a werewolf)

Maybe it's a mistake from the jap publisher or author (because they used german word without understanding the grammar or the meaning of the words ;)

If someone is in contact with Sam please ask him if he is really sure about the title XD

The one you mentioned is a different person/account. The correct name to mention Sam is @Sam-Pinansky :)

It was already mentioned in https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/1354/märchen-der-werwolf-the-annals-of-veight-volume-1. Considering that the literal translation of the Japanese title would be quite different, it was probably requested by the Japanese side.

@jaquobus we are actually going to change it as requested. Oddly enough we consulted with some Germans ans they didn’t seem to have an issue but they clearly were wrong.
Please wait a bit for us to deal with it we will likely fix it by next week.

@sam-pinansky Great to hear that. Some more unsolicited input: Depending on what impression you/ the license hiker want to invoke, Saga or *Legende * might be a better term than Märchen.

I would also choose "Die Sage/Legende eines Werwolfs" in German or "The saga/legend of a werwolf" in English

@bauerivan Actually, for a title I'd rather use Legende des Werwolfes, which I'd consider more catchy. And as the story is about a concrete werewolf, the definite article appears to be more suitable.

Ok let's go with that "(Die) Legende des Werwolfes".

Yeah, "Legende des Werwolfes" is good.
And thank you for hearing us out and correcting the name, Sam! :)

But if the story is more of a romance, rather than an epic adventure, 'fairy tale' is far more fitting than 'legend', as you get the implied 'and they lived happily ever after', whereas saga or legend must reeks of adventure, battles and all things epic.

Looks like it was changed simply to "Der Werwolf."
