Nonbiri VRMOO-ki / Relaxing VRMMO Chronicles
-
Japanese: のんびりVRMOO記
Translated title: Relaxing VRMMO Chronicles
LNDB (I found all the covers on Rakuten, if someone wanted to add them on LNDB)
Publisher: Alphapolis
Books released: 7
Manga adaptation?: Yes (not licensed in English)
Anime adaptation?: NoSynopsis: Tsugumi is entreated by his teenage twin sisters to join them in a popular VRMMO game, since they need an adult to supervise their underage accounts. Follow them on their simple adventures, defeating monsters and leveling up, learning about item crafting and cooking, and getting excited over new skills and game updates!
However...
Lurking on the forums are the
Nameless Lolicon Protective WatchLatoli guild, dedicated to the appreciation of these two new cute idols in their VRMMO. They're not dangerous at all!... but they do sometimes let their passion overflow a bit too much. In the game, they secretly protect the family group from obnoxious players and PKers, as well as covertly leave cooking quests to enjoy Tsugumi's amazing food!My spiel: Very slice of life, very low key VRMMO adventuring, ridiculous comedy from the lolicon watch :) Just a fun series with cute characters and low stakes. Think of it kind of like Dendro with no drama and a lot more cooking.
The lolicon watch is completely harmless and played more for laughs, and the characters themselves know how ridiculous they are. Think of them more like a secret idol fanclub. Like how in high school stories sometimes the popular girls have fanclubs; they're not trying to get in the girl's pants, it's more of an admiration thing.

@myskaros Wish it didn’t have a lolicon aspect, but everything else sounds great with this and if the lolicon stuff is played for laughs I’m a lot better with it (after all I think Siskan is pretty damn funny)

@myskaros Cool, then I’m 100% down for this!
-
But how prevalent is the food in this series?
-
@rahul-balaggan Not enough to call it a foodie LN, but like every other manga chapter has Tsugumi making some kind of fancy dish.
-
Anything (VR)MMO LN series is an instant up-vote for me!
-
The manga is nice, I would support getting ahold of this one
-
@myskaros well you already know as long as it’s not food heavy it will probably be considered by JNC...
-
I loved the Manga and therefore am all for this. The Latoli is just hilarious and its so much fun to read!
-
A very relaxing novel and good to read. This one has my vote.
-
Upvote ALL the fluffly slice-of-life series! (Especially the VRMMO ones!)
Edit: Okay, I checked out the manga adaptation and now I want this even more. It's super adorable and plenty of fun, and the girls' fanclub is hilarious. Definitely one I'd like to see picked up!
