Really well done LN. A modern pharmaceutical chemist helps a dark age world with magic. Manga is good too.

This acutally is one of my favorite manga. I always look forward to it coming out and getting translated. I would love to be able to read the light novel on this. Yes, it's an isekai but more of a slice of life one. Really a great story!

I started trying a few manga titles to gauge the original novel direction and quality, so I'll be going around and leaving a comment on the ones that I liked. (ignoring either the ones that I didn't like or just felt like the available manga chapters don't gimme enough info like incarnated as sword one) and I will be making posts for the ones that weren't suggested yet

                    1. It was a bit weird start reading this right after an exam. (as I am a pharmacy student and for some reason, the early cases were related to stuff that the subject covers lol)

                    2. Before getting into the series itself, I'd like to comment on the whole trend of these novels.
Recently, there are various LN, and non-LN titles that follow certain occupation in different setting combined with other genres. I think they are quite interesting for people who would be interested in such fields enough to be involved in them or just pure curiosity.
Other examples would be stuff like these new low-stake mystery series like
                      Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou
                      珈琲店タレーランの事件簿 また会えたなら、あなたの淹れた珈琲を (Barista solving mysteries)
There's one with convenience store clerk but can't remember.
In Isekai, I can only think of Nobu which I'll suggest later on and talk about it.

                    3. Commenting on the series itself, I think it dives deep enough to be interesting without being too academic, it also seems to try and sell certain pharmaceutical ethics at some time. While his knowledge about cosmetics is a bit weird looking at his character and background, I kinda assumed he would be more specialized in incurable or chronic diseases to work with (but I don't think I have many issues with that). It's true that cosmetics is became very important aspect of many pharmacies where are located in wealthy resident areas.

                    4. The setting and everything is quite normal (even it has the ol' regular tear-jerking backstory of a medical researcher), it's the occupation part that is kinda the selling part but it's doing well with it. so no complains lol

I would be totally happy, if J-Novel Club licenses this novel. I've read the fan translation of the web novel version up to the latest available chapter and it was so interesting, exiting and of course fun to read! The manga adaption is nice too! This novel definitely has my vote!!!

Please JNC license this one its really unique and deals with a lot of known diseases in history! I was reading its Web Novel and it really seems like Its pretty knowledgable regarding pharmacy and medicine!

Currently it has like 6-7 LN volumes out.

Now, that I think about it, it would be interesting to know, which extras would be in the premium ebook version, if J-Novel Club licenses this novel.

@clarabelle I don’t think JNC has ever licensed from Media Factory, but typically Kadokawa premium editions either only have high-res illustrations only (with text still on), or in-house content produced from JNC themselves. So nothing fancy like bonus short stories and whatnot.

@legitpancake Okay, but it would still be nice, if they could license it. In the end I don’t really care, if there will be fancy extras, or not, as long as J-Novel Club license it and I can get the premium ebook version with high resolution illustrations.

It feels a bit ironic, but it is precisely during this crisis that I really want to read this novel.

That may sound a bit strange, but I've heard that this novel currently experiences a boost in popularity because of this crisis. It would be really nice, if it would get licensed now.

Can‘t say this out aloud actually, but this novel would be the perfect reading material in this crisis. Hopefully JNC will license it soon!

Don't know how I never noticed this before. Totally interested in reading it. My mediocre Google skills shows this as still being only 6 volumes. Had it stalled?
