Classroom of the Elite | Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e
      Publisher: MF Bunko J
      Funimation licensed the 2017 anime

      Synopsis
Kōdo Ikusei Senior High School, a leading prestigious school with state-of-the-art facilities where nearly 100% of students go on to university or find employment. The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Kōdo Ikusei is a paradise-like school, but the truth is that only the most superior of students receive favorable treatment.

The protagonist Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is a student of D-class, which is where the school dumps its “inferior” students in order to ridicule them. For a certain reason, Kiyotaka was careless on his entrance examination, and was put in D-class. After meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyō Kushida, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka’s situation begins to change.

Ok, I know this is Media Factory, aka a Kadokawa title, which stands no chance of being licensed by JNC at this point, but I have to add it. This is up there with Alderamin on the Sky for me in terms of how badly I want this series. I loved the anime so much despite apparently not doing the novels justice, which makes me want to read them all the more. We have so few LNs over here that don't have some degree of fantasy or supernatural in them. It would even stand apart from the few school life series we have; after all, how many of those have people and classes battling each other through wit and manipulation in order to stand on top? This series always does well on the Japan's Top 10 Light Novel Rankings whenever a new volume releases, and it was the number one requested series on JNC's survey. So please, someone license it already!

After the big hit that was the anime, I was really surprised no one picked this up. It seemed like a no-brainer.

@myskaros really?? I thought it was well regarded in the western community, its MAL score is decent enough. Or I might be mixing it with the impressions I got from the Spanish speaking community. It was a HUGE hit with latinos, pretty much everyone loved the series and is one of the most requested ones, to the point that some guys are actually translating from Japanese to Spanish from the part where the anime left off.

@paulnamida well JNC has no access as of right now, and YP is doing this thing where their latest pickups make people laugh at how ridiculous they are and then hypnotize people into buying out of curiosity, so anything that is prestige cant't be pickup less people fall out of hypnosis.

Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

The anime was surprisingly interesting but unfortunately ended on essentially a giant cliffhanger :(
