Table of Contents for Reader Mode

I was wondering if it were possible to develop a table of contents when in reader mode.
I think that it would be quite convenient to have, say, a pull-down menu or maybe a side-bar menu where the chapters and sub-divisions of a volume are highlighted and marked so that jumping around the novel is easier.
This is especially helpful for going back to reread parts of a novel which you want to read again.

I would really like some way to see which part you are in while you are in it so its easier to keep track of where you are especially when doing catch up.
