Hmm. I guess this is probably a typical response but I never really got to do it before now... "I definitely prefer the Light Novel".
The manga hasn't really grabbed the atmosphere I felt when reading the first book. I noticed so many "characters in plain white background shots" which for the first time ever bugged me. The times the manga does backgrounds is alright. Page 33's splash page was adequate. But it kinda felt like it missed something. i didn't get the feeling of the ruins he was growing up in, even from the full shots they did.
I'm not saying it was awful though and thank you very much for sharing it. I'll see how the manga goes.

Too bad the manga isn't in the same style as the Light Novel illustrations. That would've been epic.

@chi-c epic and frankly impossible. I mean we can dream but even like a god like Murata would have trouble keeping that up.

@sam-pinansky it could happen if the illustrator went "Fuck it all, I'm making the manga myself." At least it happened with Demon Lord Daimaou.

Look at what happened with NGNL... the first manga volume came out in 2013, and volume 2 just came out a couple months ago >_>
