      Description

A skill useless from the beginning, <Restoration>. Regardless, in order to save a childhood friend who sacrificed her body to protect him, Touru spent twenty-five years developing the skill. Once completed, the skill could completely defy the world’s common sense. Touru, the girl, the naughty child they picked up in a back alley, and the old landlord lady join together as companions, setting out on an adventure to become heroes. A man who lived through the depths of despair decided to move forward and widen his horizons.

This has recently started getting a manga adaptation, only 2 chapters seems to be out in the wild right now. Protagonist has restoration skill that he can use to restore any object to pristine state. He grinds for 25 years in order to fully develop his skill, at which point, it begin to affect living objects. Using that skill he "heals" his childhood friend who's time was frozen with another skill after she suffered fatal injury. The protagonist start living together with his newly recovered childhood friend. The other adventurers seems to look down on protagonist for not having a decent combat skill. At a glance, it looks like a standard fantasy, but might be a good idea to keep an eye on it for the future.

Does not seem to have a NU or LNDB page.

I wasn’t aware of it, but I’ve added it to my BookWalker wishlist (or I would, if it wasn’t maxed out. For now I’ve saved it in a tab with other stuff to bookmark later).

I thought she was his sister? Or is that another LN with a disturbingly similar premise?

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

@myskaros They're childhood friends from the same village. She was seriously wounded in a monster outbreak and someone with a skill to stop time (I think her father?) stopped her time to be able to find a cure. Said cure took 25 years (for the MC to level up his skill), which is why there's the age gap.

I had a look at the first manga chapters a while ago.

How big is the age gap? What age is she?

@terrence Age gap is 25 years; the time it takes for the MC's skill to level up. I don't recall which age they were when she got stopped though. (Probably around ~16 years? Just a guess.)

@terabyte I believe there was mention in the first chapter of the manga that he was now 40-something. If that's the case, she's "of age". Just a lot younger age!

                    OK, minor correction.

Manga starts off with "39 years ago ..." for the birth of the MC. Minus 25 means they were 14 at the time the childhood friend was (not quite) killed. So... have to hold out for a bit.

Except that, legally, she's also 39-ish.

Thanks. Sounds like it's not too bad a gap with her of age likely. =)

Edit: After correction, it's a bit more on the border. I wonder if she turns 18 in the plot so far.

@terrence said in Yakudatazu Skill ni Jinsei o Sosogikomi 25-nen, Imasara Saikyou no Boukentan Midori Kashi no Akira:

Sounds like it's not too bad a gap with her of age likely.

well the rule of thumb: (age of elder/2) +7 = minimum age of younger in a the couple
for example : I'm 50, so (50/2)+7 = 32, If I were to date anyone younger than 32 they would be 'too young'

I don't know where I heard it (or where it originated), but it's referred to as 'too old to be a cougar' or 'creepy old man' rule depending on where you encounter it

                        I read banned books

She registered as a 17-year-old adventurer, and was "big sis" when MC was 14. The younger older woman. Since typical men do not advance much mentally beyond 14...

                            so he's 39 +/- and she's 17
I guess that's not creepy in the setting - but would be in modern USA

Scenario reminds me of: The Door into Summer, classic but not great sci-fi

I still want to read this
