There was no news about this series for so long. Did we really need to give up on seeing a volume 4 release ?

The last update we received was this:

And that is all for now, so for the foreseeable future New Life + will not continue publication.

Sorry but J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing decision or acquisitions.

The Japanese publisher stopped printing the novels and even the raw chapters on his blog stopped being posted. It's probably a good assumption that the series was killed. Considering it was at 18 volumes it's a shame it didn't get to finish.

@nutaris Patience. It's only been 14 months. We waited that long for the latest volume of Mixed Bathing and we're still waiting for the next volumes of Clockwork Planet and Occultic;Nine.

@paul-nebeling the main issue, and I apologize for being a pessimist and if this seems controversial, but it's essentially true, is that this was a victory for China so even if the author did start back up they'd need enough backing.

It may seem that way on the surface and I'll admit I also though that way initially, but there could easily be a lot more going on behind the scenes that we're not privy to. The author definitely had a racist streak and he may have ruffled the wrong feathers by making some bad decisions.

There's just too much we don't know and never will as I doubt anyone with the knowledge would speak of it publicly.
