    Title: Dragon Crisis! (ドラゴンクライシス!)
Links: LNDB | MAL | NU
    alt text
    Publisher: Super Dash Bunko
    Author: Kizaki Kaya
    Illustrator: Akata Itsuki
    Volume count: 13 Volumes (Complete)
    Manga adaptation?: No
    Anime Adaptation?: Yes

Sinopse: A normal high school boy Kisaragi Ryuji's peaceful life is turned into an adventure by the return of his second cousin Eriko. Ryuji and Eriko seize a relic box from a black broker. In the box, they find a red dragon girl Rose. In order to protect Rose from the black organization, Ryuji decides to fight using his power as a relic handler.

Why?: Would be nice to see some story about the good old trend [world with magic/superpower and girl is not human]. Isekai is ok and fine, but the a majority lack world construction or use the game's system to replace the need of explaining things.

The same author also wrote The Hero and His Elf Bride Open a Pizza Parlor in Another World.

The anime was decent so I was always interested in the LN. Too bad nobody picked it up. I second this.

@eternal-wanderer For Elf Pizza, no clue. But safe to say it's a single volume series, as it's been nearly 2 years since its release in Japan with no vol.2 in sight.

For Dragon Crisis, again, no clue. This topic did get me interested in watching the anime though, so I'll get to that... eventually.

                But, what about DRAGONS... oh

Well since elf pizza is coming out soon I thought this can use a little bump. We will also have something to see the quality of the authors writing.

So I just finished watching the anime. I thought it was pretty nice. Had that 00s charm I love so much. I could practically feel how this series was from the same "generation" of novels as Daimaou and IS. That said, it's also the reason I'm fairly certain it won't sell today. More's the pity.

Still, here's an upvote for the reasons OP gave.

Would be nice to see some story about the good old trend [world with magic/superpower and girl is not human]. Isekai is ok and fine, but the a majority lack world construction or use the game's system to replace the need of explaining things.

The anime covered material from 5 of the novels.
                  Eps. 01-03 - Vol.1
                  Eps. 04-05 - Vol.2
                  Eps. 06-07 - Vol.3
                  Eps. 08-09 - Vol.4
                  Eps. 10-12 - Vol.7

@verzweif There is actually a manga for Dragon Crisis!, drawn by Yūichi Ōta. It's only a single volume though.

Oh, and I just noticed that the illustrator, Itsuki Akata, also does the art for Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!.

Bumping the thread cause it's still open and I would really like this.

@doublemangekyo Thank you for clarifying light volume to anime coverage as no Japanese skills so stuck with wiki info that just stated that the LN and anime both ended March 2011 so thought they might have tried to cram it all into the anime. In regards to the series mentioned when guessing this might not do well if you're talking Demon King Daimao and Infinite Stratos those are being translated and I've got my copies. Though not looking forward to Daimao 13 because read it on BT and did not like the direction it took but I'm still going to buy it if for nothing else than just so I have the complete series.

I myself am buying both Daimaou and Stratos ebooks as they're released, so you have my thanks for supporting 00s series.

Relic handler? Is that like an exorcist? Anyway, sounds fun and also sounds “complete”. I don’t know why it’s so important to me but I really like a series to have a satisfying end/resolution. It’s like putting the kids to bed. I just can’t sleep until I know they are “set”.

it refers to the years 2000 - 2009

                              like 90's = 1990 - 1999

@jon-mitchell I prefer the noughts. We transitioned from "the nineties" to "the noughties".
