    I was about to subscribe for a 1 month "give-it-a-try" to my horror payment is only limited to credit card? and its being stored plainly in the website? Do you guys have more secured payment option like Paypal?

    I really like to subscribe specially I got some LN titles tracking here and prepub options.

      They are actually not storing it on the website, but are using Stripe as a payment processor, which is IMHO is similarly trustworthy to PayPal. However, that's indeed not clear from the website if you don't look at the code or network requests.

        @rvyne
        This is what Sam said regarding the CC information not being stored by JNC:

        @sam-pinansky said in Paypal:

        @keul you need to understand more how webpages work. Just because the form is shown on our web address doesn't mean that when you hit the "submit" button that the information you enter is sent to the address shown on the browser. What actually happens, see, is that it triggers a JavaScript https request to stripe's server when you hit submit. This sends the cc card in to stripes server and they check that the card is valid. They then send back to the browser a token, which is like a signature for your account and cc info (it's not the card info itself), and THAT is the information we store on our servers.
        Feel free to check the actual http connections in the browser developer console if you aren't convinced.

          @bartzbb @Jaquobus - It's bit not normal or maybe just carelessness in their end. Normally when you're using third party processor you include the payment gateway provider logo like Paypal, Master, Verisign and etc explaining how things works. The form itself bit suspicious to me as developer it looks to me like being process in the site itself.

          So you guys have no issue so far using cc here?

            No, I didn't have any issues in the roughly 2 years I've been using the site.

            But I agree with your point that an indication that they are using Stripe would make it look more trustworthy.

                @rvyne Worth is a difficult-to-define thing... I debated joining for a long time, since I was "only" watching one series, which I bought through Amazon. Since then, my library of JNC stuff has grown a bit... I'm holding off on crossing the "half way" point on their 200+ titles, and the 50 credits I bought "on sale" last month are already gone. It would be over half if I rebuy the other 14 Invaders volumes I got through Amazon.

                  The little character based short stories don't start in the premium versions until somewhere in the teens, so you aren't missing much. (maybe double check the premium extras thread?)

                      @smashman42 I've checked the premium extras thread, so I know.

                      I'm just disappointed that it's already the 8th of the month, and I can't buy volume 19 yet... I'm keeping enough credits in reserve to buy the rest of the series as soon as they pop up.

                          @rvyne The ebook usually comes out after ~2 weeks of the last prepub part (give or take 1/2 days).

                              @rvyne If that was a "when the prepubs will be taken down?" question you should check this thread, they are expired 1–2 months after ebook publishing.
                              Ebook release dates can also vary a lot (but like Terabyte said, most of time the target seems to be about 2 weeks after prepub finishes). You can get a list here, by searching amazon or by filtering through releases page on the site.
