Yep and it's only 14 volumes too. Seems like the perfect pick-up to me. wink wink, nudge nudge

I binged the show and read the manga I could actually find I really wish it was possible to get the volumes in English since I’m dieting to read more. Anyone know the likelyhood of that happening

                  Very good series.
I think some may hesitate to pick it up exactly for the reason that the author does not cater to fans and writes the story that he wants to write. To me that is a plus but it looks like some fans ragequitted after some plot surprises.

I'd definitely buy the series if someone were to translate it.

I really would still like this one to get TLed all the way through. Won't give up complete hope of some crazy late localization.

But I know what I'm reading if I learn Japanese. (This and the Pilot series among the Fantasy works).

This is really one of my favourite light novel series. If J-novel does license it, I'll definitely buy it, no hesitation. It's one of the best strategic warfare novels out there.

Loved the anime but hated being left on a cliffhanger, and even worse when there's no translation past the 8th volume so you can't complete the story without MTL or learning Japanese. An official license would be much appreciated and guaranteed to be popular.

That's an interesting take, given that our sales have not borne that out for all of our other licenses of series with old anime ;)

                                      I am curious:
I am assuming that JNC gets some profit from memberships, and doesn't rely entirely on ebook sales for revenue. If my assumption is correct, can a title be popular without selling well? i.e. if lots of members read the prepubs, does JNC have an idea of how many views a particular series gets vs other series? are FMP, Slayers, Brilliant Park, IS etc. popular by that metric?
I apologize- this is my 2nd tangent post about 'voting with your wallet' - If I need to start a new topic I can

@Jon-Mitchell Since you have a lot of questions and interest, I'd start a new topic. I don't really know the answer to your question, just educated guesses.

Yeah. I'd love to see JNC license more older series that had anime adaptations (including this one), but from what's been said on the topic previously, it sounds like they don't usually do all that well, which I find quite sad given that that's what I'm by far the most interested in reading. Either way, I don't know how anyone can know for sure that something is going to be popular or sell well. IMHO, this series should be one that sells well, because I think that it's good enough to deserve that, but that doesn't mean that it actually would be.

I'm reminded of how the School Rumble anime apparently did quite well for Funimation, whereas the School Rumble manga apparently did poor enough for Del Rey that they later on switched to omnibus editions and never finished it (though fortunately, Kodansha did eventually publish it digitally). Alternatively, Legend of the Legendary Heroes apparently did very well in print in Japan but didn't do well as an anime. So, even the same property doesn't necessarily do well in different mediums. Any license is a gamble on some level.

All I can say is go out there and spread the word, make sure fans know it's available, and that good sales means increasing the chance of other series in similar situations (had an old anime) get licensed.
