Thanks for the heads-up; that was an enjoyable podcast!
I especially enjoyed the discussion about demographics -- next survey when? probably hasn't changed a lot in the last year, though -- and the discussion about title translations, which just about killed me at one point.
I'm also really curious about the passing mention of print omnibuses, which I think have been mentioned before (in a panel? on CuriousCat?). I wonder what series would be good candidates for those...

I say The Faraway Paladin would be a good contender. Vol 1 & 2 become 1 omnibus, vol 3 are in one book etc.

Yeah, that seems pretty reasonable. There are also a few completed/indefinitely-stalled 2-6 volume series that could fit in one or two omnibus volumes, which seems convenient.
On the other hand, Sam seemed to position it in the podcast as more of a tool for longer (completed?) series -- it's easier to justify buying, say, 6 omnibuses than it is buying 16 individual volumes. So, something like Outbreak Company, Little Apocalypse or Kokoro Connect (assuming that they sold well enough to justify print, of course).

Maybe he wants some physical Rokujouma too? That series is so long, you'd almost have to Omnibus it if you wanted to catch up (are the volumes short enough to Omnibus together in sets of 3 like Katanagatari?).

And I say it's not. It sells well and has less than 10 volumes.
Of the current lineup Rokujouma is more of a contender.Or maybe Sam finally licensed High School DxD. I remember him saying something about print omnibuses if he ever got that series. Also, he apparently had quite a fruitful meeting with Fujimi a while back. Also, also, I remember the people on discord saying he had the current DxD fan-translator take the employment test (No idea what happened with that...).

Anything's short enough to omnibus if you're willing to have a big enough book. ;) Rokujouma is on the short side, though, or it is as far as I've gotten (through volume 15 so far). Three volumes together would generally be shorter than two volumes of Realist Hero or Smartphone.
