Spotlight time! A friendly bump to an older post that hasn't had any recent conversation and is lower on votes in order to draw attention to it.

I feel it’s going to include conflicts between Reid’s inner masculinity and Nicole’s feminine nature, but it seems like a good read. I’m getting Mile vibes from this cutie.

Just going to repost my thoughts here before I found out this already had a post on here:

This series has a similar angle to Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire, the main difference being the time and place that the main character is reincarnated. Instead of being reborn in another world or thousands of years later, Reid is reincarnated 10 years in the future.

This provides a bit of a conflict when the people Reid knew in his former life interact with Nicole in her new one. For example, Reid always felt jealous of his friend Lyell, as Reid was always stuck doing covert stealth operations while Lyell always took up attention as the traditional hero - reborn, she discovers that Lyell is her new father.

Unfortunately, the series doesn’t really commit fully to that basic concept, as it quickly becomes “Nicole goes to magic school and quickly gains a following of cute girls”. But it’s fun enough to be a nice diversion.

I was also going to say that this seems like an abandoned series, with the manga cancelled and the LN’s last volume being in 2019, but then I found out that LN volume 6 was released a month ago, albeit with the illustrations now being done by the manga artist. So it looks to be alive and kicking, at least for now.

@torka said in Eiyuu no Musume Toshite Umarekawatta Eiyuu wa Futatabi Eiyuu o Mezasu (The hero Who Was Reborn as a Daughter of the Heroes Aims to Become a Hero again):

I hadn’t actually opened my copy and Hika Akita still did the cover so I hadn’t noticed.

While this isn’t itself an Isekai, it is in an Isekai world, being a sequel to an Isekai WN with at least one recurrent character. The third in a set of three WNs set in the same world (IIRC set chronologically before this one) got a manga recently, although unusually there is no LN adaptation for that one.

                      —edit—

I’ve just glanced the afterword to see if there’s any explanation for the change of artist (none obvious) and it confirms not only that Hanryuu is set 500 years before this story, but that the main characters there are the ancestors of the (pre-reincarnation) main character here.
