Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!
(English title from the anime: The 8th son? Are you kidding me?)
    alt text

Ichinomiya Shingo, a young 25 years old, single, worker of firm company while thinking of tomorrow’s busy working day goes to sleep. However, the moment he woke up, it was inside a room unknown to him.

He then learned that he took over the mind of a 6 years-old child, remembering a lot from the memories of the said boy: he was born as the youngest (8th son and 10th child) in a of poor noble family living in back country. Having no administrative skill, he can’t do anything to manage the vast land his family has.

Fortunately, he is blessed with the very rare talent of magic. Unfortunately, while it could bring prosperity to his family, in his situation it only led to a disaster. Yes, this is the story of the boy, Wendelin Von Benno Baumeister, opening his own path in a harsh world.

I do not know much about this series but I really want it. From my understanding, this series focuses on relationships, world-building and, politics. These are things I really want and the fact that it has 13 volumes means that there is enough there that it can go for so long.

Yeah, it has a nice story. I've been following the WN fan translation. You got another vote!

Oh, I was going to suggest this once I got home, nice to see someone else likes it too. This is pretty good, I like the focus it places on certain aspects that are not present in many other novels. The pace is good too, but the fan translations are kinda meh and I think they are machine translated now. I really hope to see this one.

I definitely, wholeheartedly, support getting this as a LN. I also have been following the fan translation and when I finished that, found the japanese website and suffered though Google translate. Definitely would be a "must buy" for me :D

Read a bit of the manga as well. Gives me some Mushoku Tensei vibes in that the mc is a genius at magic because he trained at a very young age (with a special tutor as well). It'd be nice to get the LN though since it was obvious that the manga was super rushed.

Interesting, I was actually following the fan translation until a while ago. I put it on hold to finish up some other things first.

While I love the premise and the story, The WN dialog between character are kinda annoying tho.
I don't know the LN but this story desperately need narrator instead character chattering all the time.

The begining and the political part were good but latter volumes aren't as interesting and the vilain tend to be really cliché, but it may have been fix in the LN so why not.

Do you like death, war and misery ?
Do you like badass op loli who let nobody got in their way ?
                      Do you like vengeance story?
If so then then vote for The girl who ate a death god

I vaguely recall this was one of the 'rare' isekai titles that I just didn't 'get.'
Well, I'll still give it a vote.

This was the one Crunchyroll got the anime for, right? The trailers made it look incredibly boring and generic. Dang 19 volumes is a lot. I swear isekai LNs never know when to end...

I checked out the WN after the anime was announced and loved it, would definitely support an official licence. I thought it was kinda like smartphone except the protagonist isn't completely overpowered and more down-to-earth.

Different people like different things. Not everyone thinks the way you do, and not everyone thinks the way I do. I really like this series, it is very fluffy. I think the anime could be great so long as they don't flub it up like they did with other similar series I liked a whole lot like Smartphone.

Arifureta apparently did well enough they are doing a second season and I thought the anime was horrible.

@caramelwithoutthesalt said in Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!:

However, the reasons are irrelevant to the thread.

Uh, you're the one who brought it up. "I don't know why this got an anime." He's coming up with reasons.

Whoever said nothing's impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.
