If we're speculating what the new licenses are, I'm gonna guess that one of them is ギルドの新人教育係(自称)/ Trainer for Newcomer at Adventurer's Guild (Self-Styled). Someone mentioned that two of them are oneshot volumes and this one is also a oneshot. It's from Overlap, came out last month, and features a pretty unique concept in which the protagonist is one of those asshole villains that harasses the main character in a lot of fantasy series when they try to register with the Guild. It's interesting to make that character a protagonist so I think it'd do well.

(Also, the typesetter/layout designer for the cover is totally the same guy that does the UchiMusume Covers.)

I think this is new (unless I missed a convo earlier)...

The pre-AX announcements now have hints associated with them:

      • Pre AX Ann. 1 - Classic Millennial
      • Pre AX Ann. 2 - RTFM

I feel like you could potentially make some good guesses with those hints, but nothing comes to mind immediately for the titles I'm familiar with.

Hmmm. My knowledge base of LN titles isn't that large, so I can't suggest specific titles, but still...

Classic millennial makes me think that it might be a title that came out about 20 years ago and had a popular anime made from it.

RTFM... Read The "Fine" Manual... An isekai where the protagonist gets a guidebook?

            RTFM probably wrong guess...

Release date: 5/25/18 (just one volume)

Publisher: Shueisha (I forget if they're one of the ones that doesn't want all digital).

The main character is literally a manual on magic.

@paul-nebeling I've always heard it as "Read The Firing Manual," so my first thought was it would be something to do with the army, guns, or the army and guns.

                      Guess on Classical Millennial

Shinwa Densetsu no Eiyuu no Isekaitan

                      alt text

Once upon a time, a boy was referred to as a “War Hero.”

In another world called Aletia, the boy who had saved the Lost Kingdom, conquered their neighbouring countries, and led to the rise of a grand empire decided to throw everything away, returning to the modern era at the cost of his memories.

As three years passed, the boy who was happily enjoying his daily life was once again called back to the other world.

However, what awaited him was the Aletia of 1000 years in the future.

As his past glories became a “myth,” the legend of the youth referred to as the, “Twin Black Hero King,” begins.

                        ...1000 years in the future.

Ah, that's a good idea. Someone from 1000 years in the past.

Maybe RTFM could refer to Altina the Sword Princess? From what I've read of the synopsis it contains a person who always would read the manual dealing with a "meathead" who doesn't.

God, that'd be nice, though I think it's Kadokawa, so ... if Sam did get it, it'd be a coup. :)

(Note, as well, that Altina isn't stupid. She just isn't interested in books, there's a difference. She picks up on things pretty well. :)

That would mean JNC now has access to Kadokawa titles

Looks like nobody posted an update here, so here you go just in case someone missed it.

The first hint Classic Millennial was for the series Lazy Dungeon Master. You can find it here: https://j-novel.club/s/lazy-dungeon-master/

                                Still 11 hints to go.

I was actually going to ask, what does the hint mean? I don't think I'll read that series this month (I've got 9 things to read).

@terrence Classic millennial = living the lazy life in your parents' basement = Lazy Dungeon Master. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
