Magician who rose from failure - WN Status?

Has anyone heard any news on the status of the WN for Magician who rose from failure? It looks like the web novel hasn't been updated in three months, whereas before that it was getting updated quite regularly(at least once a month). I hope this isn't a situation where something happened to the author. Or maybe they're just abandoning the wn for the ln?

Looks like the author started a new WN and is writing that one for now. The (MTL translated) title is: There is no old school in the future world! -When I used old-fashioned swordsmanship in a fighting fighting XR game, the bulletin board was noisy-

Note that the same author also wrote The Magic in This World is Too Far Behind, which is currently on indefinite hiatus. So there's precedent for them to effectively drop one series to start working on another.

@travis-butler Hopefully that doesn't happen to The Magician who rose from failure. That's one of my favorite series.

Damn. I forgot this series hasn't finished yet either. I've always been curious about how he'll tie all the loose threads.

If I remember right there were actually issues with the publisher (or the illustrator?) and the last volume (already written and all) was delayed by more than a year. The author got tired of the whole situation and started writing a new WN because of it.

I got tired of refreshing my pages and searching for the title, so decided to check out the forums. And what do I find? The 5th book is not out and not likely to be out soon. It's a bit disappointing.

@travis-butler The author had actually started working on The Magic In This Other World Is Too Far Behind WN again in Dec 2021. No updates in Jan though.
As for The Magician Who Rose From Failure, he uploaded another part last week.

That's great news. With where book 4 ended, I didn't there was enough content in the WN to make book 5. It looks like book 5 will be similar to book 2, where there was a lot of brand new content.
The lag time between the WN updates may have been due to deadlines to get book 5 out. I could understand if book 5 was a lot of new stuff the author wouldn't want to be writing the WN and getting things confused.

Is it possible that the Web Novel is just dead now and the author is just focusing on the LN? Because I see that volume 5 is out in Japan, so hopefully we'll see it here soon now, but the WN hasn't been updated in over 5 months. I'm hoping the series doesn't get abandoned. I really want to see his parents put in their place.

@ShipTeaser you mean he has a history of abandoned series? Yeah so it seems, I really hope that's not the case here. This series is really good, although I'm not sure how popular it is overall. I hope he's getting pressure from his editor to continue it.

Hitsuji said a couple months ago that he's focused on trying to try to write The Magic in this Other World is Too Far Behind volume 10 again. Failure might be on hold until he either finishes that or gives up.
