New PV up on YouTube now with added "Brother Syl", including a lovable short post-credits sequence.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b21XZo55TNw

would not have said lovable, but am intrigued by what looks like Myne riding on a pegasus highbeast in combat. 8-)

Reading Bookworm, Bibliophile, and Dahlia. Also, Girl Genius, xkcd, Witch Hat, Harpy Gee, and Suitor Armor. Looking for suggestions.

@arghc, how can Myne chirping"pooey" not be lovable?

Please remember that not everyone watching the anime has read the books, so please do not spoil anything beyond what the anime has already covered.

Frickin' Brother Syl. That voice suits him to a T. "C'mon. Say pooey." This guy. THIS. GUY.

Can't wait to see him in action.

I just saw an announcement that the next season will be released in April 2022.

Not a big surprise, but it's nice that it's official.

                              Oh, same here. :-)

Actually, my parents (aged 87 and 77) tell me they are looking forward to it, too, though they don't have much interest in anime otherwise. The show seems to have remarkably broad appeal.

                                Oh that's just awesome!

I got my mom to watch Haibane Renmei way back when, but that's the only time I ever managed to get either of my parents to watch anime. I could see her having enjoyed Bookworm though, it really does have that appeal.

I suspect my father would have enjoyed the world building, as well as being very interested in the equivalent European cultures.
Mom, probably as well; given she wasn't one to read for pleasure I don't have as good a grasp upon her taste in such things. On the other hand, I think she'd have found the characters of interest.

They're both long dead, though, these are far too recent for them to have had the opportunity.

@b-scot-morgan I had considered sharing sci-fi anime w/ my mother years ago but didn't know how it would go over; but since then I've come to be skeptical of anime (to put it mildly). Plus I don't like dubs and she doesn't like subtitles (and from what I've heard of it, I don't like the Japanese dub of Bookworm either!).

...This is all ironic, because since then I learned she's not dismissive of cartoons at all, and we've watched Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch, and What If? together, along with catching up on Disney and Pixar movies :P

My talking sword has a point. And is also right.

Another split cour perhaps? If just 12 episodes I would imagine up to the end of Volume 2. If it goes back-to-back we could see the first half of Volume 3 and there is a lot of nice material in there (Rozemyne's baptism and everything related to the Ferdinand concerto for a start).
