Happy about this! I don't think there was an announcement about a new volume so far, unfortunately. Hopefully we'll have one soon.
Now I hope Sam brings those leather-covered print editions that were mentioned long ago! (If I'm not remembering it wrong.)

@eternal-wanderer Well, a reincarnation would be par for the course - hopefully not in another world. I for one would appreciate if some of the pending plot hooks were to get resolved.

This is just a theory but I wonder if the author finally decided to continue this series but the publisher was concerned that since it had been on hiatus so long that readers would have lost interest and they greenlit an anime in order to give Paladin some much needed advertising.

I hope they get the budget to go for animation which does justice to the awesome artwork in the LNs.

or the opposite: LN publisher / author was holding back on releases because a anime deal was being negotiated (possibly the anime was stalled due to splash over from due to Kyoto fire or Covid) or a combination of what @Crimson-Wise stated because of the popularity of the Manga. It seems to me many anime are advertising vehicles for print media (less often the other way around) . Now if the anime is popular...and drives sales of manga/LN... we should see more volumes of the LN - hopefully tying up some loose threads in the plotline...or the manga/anime might diverge from the source material and plot might develop differently there

Update having just seen the promo video, I have great hope for this adaptation, they have done a good job conveying the majesty present in the story

It seems to me many anime are advertising vehicles for print media (less often the other way around) .
That is correct, most anime adaptations of manga/light novels/games etc. are basically glorified advertisements for their source material. If you watch late-night anime in Japan, advertisements that air during said anime's airtime are usually all promoting the source material being adapted + relevant merchandise (Can personally confirm, once watched a late-night anime in a Japanese hotel after a late night touchdown in Tokyo some years back).
Some adaptations might be popular enough to warrant full coverage of the source material (ex. Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titan, definitely Kimetsu no Yaiba) but most only intend to cover a few books of the source to awaken interest and increased source material purchases. Ultimately this is mainly a publisher decision.

I've watched the first episode - other than a few gendered pronouns being off (gods vs goddesses) I thought it was a good watch. I have high hopes
