      Hi,

I like to keep track of how many chapters I have read of light novels on MAL. It's relatively easy to do with ebooks, where you have table of contents. But there is none when reading a part on this website, since it would add work to maintain an incomplete toc each time a new part is released.

So here is my question: how do you count chapters in that state? Doing it manually is error-prone. Even counting chapters in the toc is error-prone, so keeping track while reading is even more difficult.

Another idea would be to get the list of untranslated chapters, but it can only be right after the whole volume is finished.

I may suggest collectively maintaining a list of chapters for the light novel I'm reading (bookworm) in the appropriate forum, this could be a good alternative if anyway else feels it is needed.

I just wait until I finish the whole volume, then mark all the chapters for that volume off at once. JNC's app keeps track of which parts I've read pretty decently while I'm still reading that volume.

Is there something I missed on that part? When the whole volume is finished, do you have a toc?

@exagone313 I actually haven't used MAL in a while... I forgot they don't keep track of how many chapters are in a volume, but they do have a separate counter for volumes, so I just used that in those cases.

This. I use the app to read, be it pre-pubs or e-books (yay beta ap!) so I've never needed anything else to keep track of it.
