Unverified Email Address

I recently changed my login email address and I thought that I'd verified it. However, when I try to login to the main site I get the message "Unverified email address." with a button to resend the verification email next to it. However, when I click the button, I get this message:
"Failed to send verification email: Could Not Update User On Forum:Something was wrong with the request payload you passed in. | Email taken"I'd also like to add that I'm currently signed in using the new email address here on the forums so I'm really confused here.
EDIT: Upon further study of the issue, I never received a verification email for my new email address from J-Novel Club. I just wanted to add this information just in case it helps in diagnosing what's wrong.
