I think it's a mistake to assume that all isekai need to be self insertion power fantasies. Grimgar is not a feel good story about some sniveling neet going on a hero's journey and becoming a God in another world with waifu hanging off both arms, but rather a rather disturbing and more realistic look at flawed people doing their best in crappy situations and failing as often as they succeed. If you really look at Grimgar this is not a hero's story at all, but rather the story of sympathetic villains selling their asses as mercenaries in a racial cleaning war to survive.

If your looking for a shounen power fantasy or simple black and white morality this is not the series you should be reading. Not all stories need to about the characters' growth as a human beings. There are are plenty of very well regarded stories about precisely the opposite. For instance Moby Dick is the story of a man destroying himself and everything he loved over his all consuming obsession with vengeance.

@melting-sky Yeah it's exactly that, normally each catch up should last for a month but usually they're a bit longer sometimes going on for multiple months.
To know what's on catch up you can either look on the forum for a post like this one:

or you can look in the news section at the bottom of the front page of the main site (which is, in my opinion, the easiest way since catchup content is, with new license announcements, the only info put there).

I use the pro version of Moon+ Reader on my Android tablet. On PC, calibre would probably be the most obvious solution. However, almost all e-reader applications (be it on mobile or PC) should be able to read .epub files (at least as long as they don't have DRM, which the files from JNC do not), because epub is the standard format that's used by almost everyone other than Amazon.

JNC doesn’t have any existing relationship with GA Bunko, SB Creative, or Softbank, YP does so it is more probable for them to get it.

Maybe my memory has been wrong, but I feel like it use to say just Premium on there instead of In Library. Either way, I am thankful for that feature. Thank you again

@mirage_gsm The discussion topics are USUALLY created when the first part goes up, by whoever is posting the volume. Occasionally not (only saw it once myself). They determine where THEY think the "appropriate section" is.

The thing about looking for them is that sometimes they fall far off the first page of "Recent", because there may be no activity for a few days (weeks?). And we have how many active volumes right now? A lot.

They really dropped the ball on shield hero no volume releases during the anime was a real shame

I haven't figured out how much I've saved, but I buy way too many books to even consider dropping from Premium to Regular.

@thomask Nothing on the LN, and the author hasn’t written any new chapter for Narou’s WN since May last year. He’s still updating his other series, and has started a new one just last month.

The manga adaptation is still going on, with new volume coming out last month.
