If I was into shipping, I’d probably be shipping Poncho and Serina. (Which is to say, I think there’s a fair likelihood that Poncho and Serina will end up being a canon pairing.)

So, at this point, I’d say Liscia, Aisha, and Juna are definite future members of Souma’s harem.

Alright, so a “secondary queen” is basically a concubine, which is basically what I figured.

Alright, so I was correct about Liscia, Aisha, and Juna are indeed all future members of Souma’s harem, although only Liscia and Aisha are official fiancées at this point. Also, that’s a wonderful illustration of Juna smiling.

Well, I don’t really think that Jeanne is likely to get together with Souma at this point, since she seems more likely to get together with Hakuya now.

I assume that drawing of a “bronze racoon” is Roroa’s doing.

Oh, we finally get another segment from Liscia’s perspective.

Uhh… Is Kagetora Georg Carmine? We saw him die, didn’t we? Was that actually just a sleeping potion, then?

Well, at least Carla (and even Castor) wasn’t executed. However, I think this turn of events makes it fairly unlikely that she’ll end up joining Souma’s harem any time in the near, or even semi-near, future.

Nice! Souma’s finally slept in the same bed as Liscia and Aisha!

I have to beg to differ with Souma. I think that maid uniform looks great on Carla.

Part 1:
So, it wouldn’t surprise me at this point if Souma ends up having a dragon in his harem.

Part 3:
It’s nice to see Souma and Liscia’s relationship deepening little by little. Liscia’s displayed physical affection toward Souma a couple times (like the lap pillow and the time she gave him a goodnight kiss on the cheek), but I think this the first time he’s shown physical affection towards her other than the one time he ran his hand through her hair while she sleeping, which I’m not sure whether or not to count.

Well, that bit at the end of the part was a bit sad.

Part 4:
Well, that was a surprising reveal about Juna.

Part 5:
“Almost as if they were marrionettes” Because that’s exactly what they are, I bet! They’re probably acting like that because Souma exceeded the amount he could control fully with Living Poltergeists.

Yep, I was right.

Part 6:
I assume that bit about Sur’s daughter marrying Halbert in the future means that Halbert’s gonna end up with multiple wives, because I don’t really see Halbert not getting married to Kaede at this point. Also, am I correct in assuming that Sur is Aisha’s uncle?

Silly Hal. If she said the rest like, “If we get through this, let’s get married,” or something like that, it would be as good as dooming you guys!

Part 7:
So, a slave collar prevents suicide, but it kills the wearer if they try to take it off without their master’s permission? That sounds like a glaringly obvious loophole to the “no suicide” restriction, if you ask me. Also, ugh. I get why it’s necessary to use them here, but still, ugh.

Part 8:
Man, I hope Carla doesn’t end up being executed. I wouldn’t be surprised if Castor ends up getting executed, but I’m hoping Carla will end up managing to avoid that fate.

That was quite the reveal regarding Duke Carmine’s plans.

I really liked that bit at the end of this part.

Part 9:
That scene of Souma and Liscia sharing a blanket was nice.

“Of course, it was probably about as likely to happen as the sky falling.” Oh boy. If that isn’t foreshadowing, I don’t know what is.

Part 10:
I really hope that Carla working together with Souma to defeat Gaius will at least be enough to avoid her getting the death penalty.

Hmmm… I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeanne or Maria ended up joining Souma’s harem.

Man, this author really likes hiding stuff the protagonist knows from us, the readers, huh?

Really enjoyed that scene at the end of this part.

Reading this on catchup. (Note: Most of this post was written as I read, and not edited afterward except possibly for spelling mistakes.)

Part 1:
The girl on the cover seems to have a case of Saberface (or maybe it’s just her out fit and hairdo).

And, wow, the protagonist has already been engaged to Liscia by the very first page? Holy crap.

I found that bit where Liscia walked in on her parents feeding each other pretty funny.

Man, I’m loving this protagonist’s inner monologue.

I not exactly sure Souma is making the best first impression on Liscia, what with immediately foisting work onto her. Granted, it could be worse. It could be a lot worse.

I really like that we’re getting bits from both Souma’s and Liscia’s perspectives.

Despite that initial meeting, it seems Liscia might already be somewhat taken with Souma.

Wow, Liscia. You’re already thinking of having sex with Souma? How bold of you.

Part 2:
Interesting. It seems that the Three Dukedoms are all led by demihumans, for lack of a better term for now.

Man, that was a great speech by Souma at the beginning of this part.

Well, that was quite the outburst from Aisha.

That scene with Liscia hugging Tomoe was pretty funny.

As of the end of part 2, I’m really, really enjoying this so far.

Part 3:
Dude, what’s up with this obvious foreshadowing at the beginning of this part? Oh, wait, never mind. I think I might get it.

Wow. Souma and Liscia are already getting along super well.

When I first came across the series, I read the light novel volumes one after another. Not in as short an amount of time as you, but steadily until I caught up.

What do you like about the series? I like a bunch of things about it, for example how Souma acts respectfully toward his love interests, the comedic aspect to scenes such as the cooking jewel broadcasts, the geeky political commentary such as the criticism of the Helsinki accord, the fantastical elements such as the dragons. I think the author does a good job of putting the various elements together in an entertaining way.

Let me guess, the tailor oji-san is the one who will provide the rug? Maybe, since he works more or less in that line of work and she’s basically on the run right now.

@hopebestman i dont want to create a whole discussion about it. Its just funny how magic system works in different LNs. Most of the isekai MCs are adjust quickly because they are geek like us. But thinking about "which magic system works on this world? LDM or Realist Hero? or a game base system? Like in WoW or something? hmmm", and it would be funny to read for first 1-2 chapters :D

Every time I read of this light novel in the back of my head it keeps reminding me of the Imperial Japan ideal of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" also written in casual speech as "Asia is for the Asians". See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_East_Asia_Co-Prosperity_Sphere

The way Souma keeps going on wars and feels "forced" to go into war is a rather interesting imperialist thinking process. Also how they mention several times how it's a country where all these different varieties of non-humans and religions can co-exist. It feels vary much like Imperial Japan and how they wanted all Asians to to be grouped together in one massive (of course Japanese controlled) area. Though I guess there is no imperial west that Souma is saving anyone from.

It's still a fun novel but it's interesting to think about.

When it comes to realist hero. The Extra side stories from the full published versions are like an extra part I look forward too.

@SomeOldGuy Well, she could definitely do that to if she thought it necessary, but unless a guy were really pushy, I doubt that she would do that. And with her spending pretty much all of her time at the castle past a certain point, it's not like many guys would have had the opportunity to propose to her in person instead of by letter. Regardless, as nice as she typically is, she's clearly not the sort of woman you want to piss off.

There's also no guarantee that she wrote the symbols down correctly, so we have basically nothing to do go on at this point.

Also, IIRC, the demon lord's name was supposedly Devilroi, which isn't even really French. Roi would be king in French, but devil isn't a word in French. Devil in french would be diable. So, it's a mishmash of languages.

From what happened with the object that showed up in volume 6, whatever system was put in place pretty clearly understands multiple Earth languages and was prepared to handle multiple Earth languages. So, who knows if the monolith is even displaying a single language, and if it is, it could easily be its own thing even though the obvious assumption would be that it was kanji or similar just because then Souma would recognize it if he had the chance to actually read it.

They've dropped major hints that the planet where the story is taking place is somehow related to Earth (be it Earth itself, a colonized planet, an alternate version of Earth, or whatever), and language plays a factor into that, but we've been given so little to go on in general that we can't do much more than speculate.

Alternatively/additionally Naden would need to learn how to regulate her own electrical discharge... she would essentially need to understand Those self same measures. Or run it through Genoa’s device.

@hopebestman I was teasing a bit with the comment about Souma, my bad on that being unclear. But we’re also talking about a situation where royal heirs with the rights to succession still remained. So even if the descendants of Secondary Queens were wandering around, they had no way to participate in the succession crisis. There is no line of succession through a Secondary Queen whatsoever, as far as we are told: “Conversely, while a woman of any class (even a slave or a prostitute) could become a secondary queen, their children had no right of succession. However, they were still royalty...” This is never indicated to have exceptions, with the likely in-universe explanation being that you don’t really want to legally declare more people who can kill you to take your job. Despite being royalty, they and their descendants can never take the throne by legal means. It would be treason to make the attempt and civil war is the most likely outcome. So even if Castor’s ancestors include the Hero King, if it was by way of a Secondary Queen, Castor wouldn’t have been in line for the throne even if he were human. I’d still expect it to have come up at some point from someone as proud as Castor started out, but since it isn’t relevant, I can’t rule it out even in light of the succession mess. (Whew, managed to bring it back on topic!)

Hmmm, I have ebook version 1 and 2 for realist hero 3 and I don't find in calibre in both any mention of Luu.

I get in Version 1.0 and 1.0.1 of volume 4 6 occurences for "Big Brother Luu" and "Big Sister Cia". So both are in it. And as I just downloaded the latest version 30 minutes I don't assume you have newer ones.
