Adding another suggestion for hint 6, assuming it's something related to VR - "Only Sense Online", a series that has 21 volumes out (or 24, when counting the Silver Goddess side story volumes), as of February. The only reason I'm putting it here, though, is because it's VR, and because I've been slowly working my way through the manga for the past week or so.

None of this has been confirmed obviously so still open to other explanations (though 1 and 2 seem like locks).
