        @smashman42 Can you blame them, really? Major publishers have a lot invested. This "direct" program is a way for people to bypass that investment. Yes, the rules are different.

        Some "major publisher" books have missed multiple deadlines. I'm waiting for the final book of a series that was originally scheduled for 11/19, then 03/20, then 05/20 (the date shown on Amazon right now), and (as of yesterday) to 09/20.

        Are there penalties for them? Probably. But that's in their contract with Amazon.
