Watched an anime, would you buy the novels?

If I liked the anime and I know the story continues in the LN I'm simply unable to not reading it. I usually start from volume 1 but if the anime was a faithful enough adaptation I might skip to where it ended to save time.

If I enjoyed a fan-translation, would I buy the e-books?
For the few fan-translations that I've read and were licensed, I've been buying the digital books, from the first volume. (The only exception would be Oregairu because of lack of digital.)
If I enjoyed the anime, would I buy the e-books?
Usually yes, but I've a bunch of exceptions to this. In general, if I enjoyed an anime then I'd buy the first volume, but whether I continue buying afterward depends on how strong the actual novels are (or my interest on starting them.) An anime adapting many volumes doesn't help either, since then reading the novels tend to be a bit more boring.
That being said, I mostly end up reading the novels before the anime airings these days.

Very much so. I’ve already done this with In Another World With My Smartphone; in that case I had watched the series, read and still read the fan translations, yet I’ve ALSO bought every single novel in the series as soon as it’s come out. I was already aware of Slime from fan translations, and soon I’ll be seeing the anime - I’m sure not long after I’ll be buying up the J-Novel translations again.
Right now I’m hoping to see Realist Hero get an anime; I had read the first four volumes in fan translations, and now I’ve bought all seven books currently out from J-Novel.
Honestly, I would KILL to see J-Novel take on High School DxD and Slash/Dog. Have read all of those in the unofficial translations and I still want to see them get an official release.

I would say its is highly dependant on anime. If it manages to hook me in, I will most likely buy novels. If its mediocre but interesting enough, I will most likely skip the novels all together.
In the end, manga and anime tend to skip a lot of content that can be considered important when you read novels. I read both Overlord, Youjo Senki, Slime, Danmachi in official format despite being familiar with content from fan translations and anime.
